Doctor Who 7x02 Thoughts

Another okay episode.
• I loved the Doctor. Everything about him, everything he did, all his expressions, the way he went from excited to having fun to serious to cold fury - it was all excellent. I also liked the little angst bits with Amy (and Rory) and his expression at the end while looking at Amy and Rory standing in the doorway.
• I liked Rory's dad and how he handled his unexpected adventure. I loved his favour and the shot of him sitting in the TARDIS door looking at the earth. Loved the post-cards from his world travel afterward.
• I did find it very weird that the Doctor and Brian didn't recognise each other considering the Doctor was at Rory and Amy's wedding. In fact Brian at least should have known exactly who the Doctor was not only because of the wedding but also because of he's Amy's 'raggedy man' which apparently the whole town knew about.
"Brian Pond you're delicious." - Doctor
"I'm not a Pond." - Brian
"Of course you are." - Doctor
LOL. But seriously, the Doctor didn't think of that? I don't buy it.
• I went back and forth on how Nefertiti was done. On one hand, Solomon's threat against her was gross and had no place in this episode, I wasn't a a big fan of her romantic interest in the Doctor (I think that running gag has run out of steam for me) and I'm torn about her going off with Riddell at the end (though leaning more to not liking it). On the other hand, she was great in herself - I loved her refusing to be left behind, how well she handled everything, her making the choice to save everyone else at her own expense, and then taking out Solomon in the end
• "Oh, please don't start flirting. I will not have flirting companions." - Amy. LOL. I loved this whole scene with Amy as the Doctor, complete with Companions. I loved her line about her learning from the Doctor to immediately start pushing buttons and then don't stop there.
• The lack of any mention of River yet this season is very weird. I kept wondering in the previous episode just what River thought of her parent's splitting up. In this one when Nefertiti asked Amy if the Doctor had a queen I was just waiting for her to bring up River (something like "yes, my daughter. It's a long story") but nothing.
• The Doctor leaving Soloman to die was dark but really not that unexpected from the Doctor but I am really surprised that he left the two interesting and different robots behind. He loves different and interesting! And the robots were just following their programming.
