2x03 'We Are Everyone'

• First, I hated the plot of this episode. Basically - all of it. It felt like the writers had a point of view and were pushing it far too hard. To the point that things ended up feeling contrived and stupid. But instead of going into that, there were a bunch of things I liked. So, a list:

• I loved Joan's first scene. I liked seeing her hanging out with a friend and it was nice to see her having a life outside of Sherlock. I loved his little dollhouse murder quizzes and Joan's matter-of-fact reaction to them.

"I shouldn't be the only one who knows you." - Joan. This was a nice scene. Is Joan starting a Sherlock Holmes blog at the end? I like that.

• I loved Sherlock using Clyde as an alarm clock to wake Joan. He's actually trying to be a better roommate/partner. It's sweet.

• I loved Moriarty's letter to Sherlock. All the stuff with Sherlock's feelings about Moriarty and love were great.

• I wish her name was Irene Moriarty instead of Jamie Moriarty. They should have just gone all the way when mushing them into one character. It would have felt less like Irene Adler didn't exist in this version if they had.

• I love how competent Joan is getting - from picking up on the box to stealing the watch (after spending her own time learning how to pick-pocket.)

"I need a moment free from the internet. Trying to drag myself away but the people I'm in conflict with are too infuriating to ignore." - Sherlock. LOL. Hasn't everyone been there?

2x04 'Poison Pen'

Sad episode but good. It really showcased both Sherlock's compassion and his arrogance very well.

• Sherlock's empathy for Abigail and then Graham was wonderful to see. I loved that when Abigail asked him to stay, because she didn't have anyone, he did. For three hours, instead of working on the case. I like that she was both his friend and his first murderer. His inspiration to become a detective. But wow, the arrogance of 15 year old Sherlock deciding to let her get away from the murder because he didn't think she'd do it again (and also because he felt a connection with her.) I also love that he accepted Abigail's decision to accept the blame for the murder - respected her choice and her need to do it.

• The Graham/Sherlock bridge scene was excellent. He tells Graham he's watching him and will act if he ever appears to considering killing again and then immediately turns around and offers Graham himself as someone to talk to. Arrogance/compassion. It was a brilliant scene.

• I loved Abigail. She was wonderful. Her confessing was really sad but it also felt right in a way. I'd love for her and Sherlock to become pen pals again.
