Doctor Who Minisodes
Dec. 30th, 2013 09:53 pmClara and the TARDIS: This vs relationship continues to be amazing. The TARDIS hid her bedroom! She’s pranking her! It’s delightful. Love them. Love the whole ‘girls’ thing less. That just seems to automatically make it ‘sexual/romantic’ vs the TARDIS. It should have been Companions vs TARDIS. Also where were all the male Companions, huh? Amazing to see the TARDIS actually physically communicating with someone – has she ever done anything like that before? All I can think of in the new series was Rose in Turn Left with the TARDIS and it wasn’t as overt as this. They were having a conversation. “Dear god, that woman is made of legs!” re: Amy. LOL. I loved the TARDIS’s response to Clara’s “do your worst” but wouldn’t messing with time to allow a dozen Clara’s to be in the same time and place be a bad thing?
The Infoarium: Wow, the data loop that guy was stuck in was rather cruel. But how very Doctor.
The Night of the Doctor: If I’d actually watched this before the 50TH I’d probably have been a lot less confused about War Doctor’s place. Or at least I wouldn’t have thought he was older Eight. So was the reflection of a younger John Hurt? I was completely expecting the War Doctor of the 50th and I find it weird that he was so young in the reflection. I mean Eleven has lived at least over 200 years in his current body (I can’t remember exactly) and hasn’t aged. Just how long was War Doctor fighting the Time War (how long did it last?) that he’d be so old when he decided to end it? I loved Eight in this. I spent the entire thing going ‘poor Eight’. I’m pretty sure Cass’s reaction and death hurt him more than his own death or regeneration. I love also that he chose ‘warrior’ as his next regeneration. It wasn't just the War Doctor who had to make a hard decision.
