The Originals

iariaIt looks like I won't be watching The Originals after all.
I was vaguely planning on it after finishing season 4 of The Vampire Diaries (...which I still haven't done, sigh). I love Elijah and Rebekah, the relationship between the three siblings is interesting and while I actually rather disliked Haley on TVD the other points outweighed it and there was always the hope she'd be more interesting on a new show.
Then I learned that the show was going in a Elijah/Hayley direction with Elijah falling for her and that made me go 'oh, hell no'. Seriously?? That makes no character sense to me. At all. Elijah has been in love with Katherine for centuries, finally got together with her in season 4 of TVD and was planning to run off and spend the rest of his life with her before he learned about the baby. And then weeks, maybe a couple months, later he's falling for Hayley? WTF? That pretty much killed my desire to watch the show.
I have no interest in watching a character I love being with a character I dislike. It is way too soon considering what was happening in TVD (and I don't even ship Elijah/Katherine, but man does it annoying me). Maybe it's actually really well done but I don't care enough to want to find out.
And now the final nail in the coffin: Claire Holt aka Rebekah has left the show as of episode 16. Rebakah and her relationship with her brothers was a huge reason to watch and now between this and Elijah/Hayley my interest is pretty much non-existent.
