I finally watched Easy A and enjoyed it.

Olive is wonderful. I loved her. Her parents were fabulous and I loved her relationship with them. I wanted to see more of them.

I loved that the message in the end wasn’t about whether having sex was good or bad but that you need to make your own choice about it and that it’s no one else’s business what you choose.

I also liked that the romance between Olive and Tony was a lot more low key then I thought it was going to be. I thought he'd have a bigger role and that he'd be the one to ‘save’ her from everyone's judgment so I was really glad when that didn't happen. I found them pretty sweet.

Oh, and I liked how the kiss scene from the trailer - he offers to keep her secret if she kisses him - actually played out.

I thought that Olive and Brendan were friends from the trailer and while they weren't really I enjoyed their interactions. And I loved him running away to be with his hot black boyfriend.

My big disappointment was with the Olive/Rhiannon friendship. They’ve been friends for years and Olive has a picture of them on her desktop but we never actually get a moment where we see why they are friends. Olive most of the time seems like she’s only reluctantly hanging out with Rhiannon and Rhiannon turns on Olive pretty damn quickly.

We get a couple moments that hint at them actually caring for each other – Olive calling Rhi her best friend even though they’re not talking and her guilt when she saw her at the restaurant and Rhiannon crying over Olive’s text message apology – but it would have been nice to have seen a couple moments of actual friendship between them instead of being left to wonder ‘why are they friends?’
