• I loved the explanation for how Rumpelstiltskin came back from the dead and how the situation with Neal played out. Zelena manipulating Neal and Belle into resurrecting him, Belle deciding against it in the end but Neal pushing forward (because family trumps other people), Rumpelstiltskin refusing to accept Neal's death and absorbing Neal into him and that being why he was so mad in Storybrooke. I loved all of that. It all made perfect character sense. It made perfect story and worldbuilding sense. And it was interesting. Also sad but a well done sad. I also liked Neal taking control of their body and escaping Zelena.
• Neal's death itself made me a bit teary-eyed though I thought it dragged on a bit too long.
• I really liked the Emma/Neal scene in the forest. I liked his reaction to Emma dating in New York and I loved them giggling together over her almost marrying a flying monkey (it made me smile). Their hospital scene wasn't bad either. Of course once Neal begins to get okay he's killed off.
• The was an extra layer of evil vindictivness to Zelena's actions this episode that rival anything Regina or Rumple have ever done. She could have grabbed any person to open the vault - either by force or by bribery - but she chose to manipulate the two people Rumpelstiltskin loved most into doing it. That is so cruel.
• I liked Emma's "Be careful" to Regina. Their relationship has come a long way.
• I loved this Belle/Hook/Emma exchange:
Belle: You do know he tried to kill me?
Hook: Well, there were extenuating circumstances.
Belle: (unimpressed) Twice.
Hook: ... sorry?
Emma: Really know how to charm a girl, don't you?
Hee. I really loved Belle calling him on it. And that she didn't let him just brush it off. But I also actually like that his 'apology' seemed there mostly for Emma's benefit. Like, he's still a pirate.
• I really liked Belle in this all around. I liked her researching in Storybrooke. I liked that she figured out that Lumiere was lying and thus that there was something more going on. I liked that she said no and decided bringing Rumple back wasn't worth bringing misery to everyone else.
• I liked that Belle took Lumiere with her when she ran. But you'd think that would have immediately freed Zelena.
• I liked that Snow was going to join them searching for Rumple and was vocally dissatisfied about being left behind. That's really all I wanted.
• I loved Belle's enchanted forest outfit.
• I liked the Neal/Hook scene and I loved the hug. They have this whole complicated relationship outside of Emma and I like when the show brings it up.
• You'd think that Rumpelstiltskin would have given Belle the dagger but then I suppose he figured that it would just put her in more danger since he would be out of commission for awhile.
• I quite liked Henry confronting Emma on lying to him but the end Emma/Henry scene was a bit meh. I like that she told him the partial truth and appears to be planning on getting his memories back now. But the bit about how Neal was a hero came off very awkward.
