The Pavlovich Brothers (No. 119-122)

• I loved the Liz/Tom confrontation. Her whole monologue was great. I loved her bitter little jab about the pancakes. I loved that she actually went there with breaking his thumb - except that it allowed him to escape which seemed pretty short-sighted. But I loved the fight that followed.

• Weirdly this is the most I've ever liked Tom/Liz. Suddenly I'm interested in their relationship.

• Tom was sticking to his mantra of it being only a job but I find myself wondering just how honest he was being. I think he left her alive because it was his job (Berlin doesn't want her dead) but I don't think he's indifferent to her. I mean when he walked out the first time he didn't have to throw out that 'I love you'.

• Liz was really impulsive and not thinking things through this ep - her following Tom was clearly a bad idea, her breaking his thumb wasn't thought through, she spent her time with his talking about them instead of asking about who he works for and why he targeted her and yet it didn't actually bother me. She was being super emotional, and making mistakes because of that, but I actually think I like that? She's still new to this life, young and she's not some perfect super spy and I don't think she needs to be.

• I loved the Red/Liz scenes. I found myself wondering for the first time if Red might not be training Liz - perhaps to take over from him? It was him calling his tails "your people" that made me go hmm. He's always trying to teach her, to make her think and figure things out herself, and in this episode to be patient. I really loved him delivering Tom to her house and that even though he disagreed with how she wanted to handle things he still went with what she wanted to do.

Also I loved their final scene but I feel like this - "You deserve the best in life, Lizzie. I know that sounds odd coming from the man who has brought you some of the worst." - is really going to be sticking out in Liz's mind.

• So according to Tom he works for the good guys, hmm. That could be an interesting twist if they weren't 'bad guys'. Perhaps they're against Alan Alda's conspiracy with Red in the middle? Also Red "isn't who she thinks he is"? Because what she thinks is pretty bad (including murderer) so what exactly is he?

• I'm guessing the picture is of Red smothering her father. She knows that Red has done horrible things. She's seen him do horrible things so what could they have a picture of that would turn her against him? All I can think is murder and him killing some random person wouldn't work (unless it was a child). We know Tom was there at the hospital around the time her father died. It makes sense to me.

• I was annoyed that they didn't show us what the picture was.

• I loved Red using the Pavlovich brothers to get Tom. That was a great twist and a perfectly Red thing to do. I loved the whole capture sequence and Liz finding them with a trussed up Tom in her house.

• Tom/Berlin's codename for Liz is 'mockingbird' which I find interesting considering mockingbirds are know for leaving their eggs in other birds nests to be raised by them. Hmm.

• Red's rambling during the scene with courier Jeffery was actually kind of annoying. Usually I don't mind or like them but this one was pretty blah.
