IRIS Episode 17 Review

• Hyun Joon killing hacker guy, Hyun Seok, makes me sad. He seemed sweet and he more than anyone else on the team got along with Hyun Joon and seemed to like him. It makes it worse that it was Hyun Joon who killed him. I kind of wanted him to join Hyun Joon’s team.
• I liked Seung Hee saving them during the battle and the little moment where she give Sun Hwa a gun.
• “You were being punished for eating the forbidden fruit.” Yet more implication that Baek San is Seung Hee’s father. Daddy didn’t approve of Hyun Joon sleeping with his daughter.
• Hyun Joon still trying to reach out to Sa Woo makes me sad for him but it also leaves me kind of amazed by just how much he loves him.
• I love that the special favour Hyun Joon asked of the president was a pardon for Sun Hwa. I also liked their goodbye. I loved that while he’s come to rely on her completely he knows that she’s in love with him and he’s not so selfish to ask her to stay knowing he could never return her feelings. He cares about her too much to hurt her like that. I felt for her so much when she broke down in tears as she was driven away but the fact that she could smile at happier memories makes me feel like she’ll be all right.
• Sang Hyun and Tae Sung teasing Hyun Joon about Seung Hee’s request that he meet her at the CCTV’s cameras’ blind spot made me smile; it was very cute. And I liked how Sang Hyun acted to give Hyun Joon and Seung Hee a little more time to be alone together. I really like how the NSS team looks after each other.
• I loved how content both of them looked when Hyun Joon hugged Seung Hee from behind after they got to her apartment.
• I was prepared for Vic killing Mi Jung and I figured after the scene where he hugs her that she’d die this episode but it still made me wince. They started off by hitting a major kink of mine and have ended all the way on the other side. His coldness towards killing her – it didn’t affect him at all and that confirms the fact that he really had just been using her. Sigh. Poor Mi Jung. At least she died really quickly and didn’t see it coming at all.
