Once Upon a Time 3x19 Review

• Holy crap, Snow crushed Charming's heart! I did not see that coming. I loved the twist that they cast the curse and I loved that Snow actually killed Charming. I even liked how they got around it by splitting Snow's heart and giving him half. It works because it's Snow and Charming and we've had three seasons about their true love.
I loved the shot of Regina taking Snow's heart - Snow grinning, and Regina worried - and just so different from how I imagine Regina ever would have pictured it happening. I also liked how upset and sad Regina was when Snow was doing the curse.
• I loved that it was Henry's complete trust and belief in Emma that returned his memories.
• I loved that it was Regina kissing Henry that broke the curse this time.
• I loved Emma using her power, her light magic, to save Henry.
• Henry's reunion with Regina was wonderful. I loved his 'mom' to Emma and then his 'mom!' to Regina after getting his memories back. I loved him immediately running to a knocked out Regina's side. I liked them catching up and him teasing her about Robin.
• Regina's behaviour in Storybrooke without her heart feels like the show is breaking what we know about how being without your heart affects you. She broke the curse with her love for Henry, without her heart. She's happily pursuing a relationship with Robin, without her heart. It doesn't seem like either should be possible?
• I'm not a fan of the revelation that Zelena's powers are tied up in her pendant. As a focus that she uses to keep control of it, sure. As a magnifier that she uses to make herself stronger, sure. But removing it also removes her powers doesn't make sense to me. We saw her magic long before she got it so it shouldn't be able to remove them.
• Were those flying monkey's killed? Because all I could think was 'did Hook just kill Aurora?', 'did Emma just kill Walsh?', 'did Regina just kill Little John?' Those are innocent people. I hope this is addressed.
• Poor Aurora and Phillip. That said, Aurora not warning Snow when they first returned because Zelena threatened them is still a weak excuse.
• I was so glad that Emma was pissed at Hook and refused to accept his excuses. Him keeping Zelena's threat a secret was dumb and there was seriously no reason for it. Just, ugh, it bothers me! I am annoyed with the writers here. Plus what was Hook's plan with Henry here? What if Henry hadn't been conveniently running away? Would Hook have kidnapped him? What was he going to tell Emma/Regina? Also Zelena could switch her target to say Emma's dad easily enough. Just dumbness all around.
• I liked the Regina/Grumpy exchange during the meeting and I liked Granny sitting there, knitting and silently judging everyone, but I really noticed the absences. Where were the rest of the Charmings' usual advisors like Jiminy and the Blue Fairy? Most especially where was Red? She showed up in the first episode of the second half of the season and hasn't been seen since and her absence was really noticeable this episode.
