Guardians of the Galaxy

iariaI enjoyed it. It was pretty hilarious.
• I really liked all of the guardians. They were all pretty likable and their interactions with each other just made them more likable as individuals. I loved them becoming friends and while it happened a bit too fast I still completely bought it. They bonded over causing mayhem and cheating death! And the fact that they've all lost things. The movie actually did a really good job selling them as a found family.
I loved Rocket/Drax/Groot going to save Peter/Gamora - by planning to blow up the Ravenger's shp. I loved them agreeing to die together to save the universe. I loved Groot saving them from the crash by enveloping them becase "we are Groot". I loved the four of them joining hands to share the burden of the infinity stone at the end.
• Groot and Rocket were my favouites.
• The soundtrack was great and I like how the music was used.
• I found Gamora/Nebula fasinating. Their rivalry, the fact that they both hate Thanos but that it didn't bring them closer, Nebula revealing that Gamora was the adopted sibling she hated the least even as she killed her, Gamora trying to save Nebula on Ronan's ship at the end - I want more.
• Yondu and Peter were interesting. It was pretty clear that as much as Peter considered Yondu family (however reluctantly) Yondu returns the feeling. Peter is basically Yondu's adopted son and he was clearly always Yondu's favourite.
• Loved the Novacorp ships and the shield they created when put together.
• My biggest issue has nothing to do with the movie itself - sometimes the dialogue was so quiet that I couldn't hear what was said which was very annoying.
• Some favouite moments:
- Peter dancing his way into the temple at the beginning. Especially him using the rat-creature as a microphone.
- The three way fight between Peter, Gamora and Rocket/Groot when they first meet was great. Very fun.
- Groot getting the, uh, battery or whatever it was off the wall in the background while in the foreground Rocket, Peter and Gamora discuss how impossible that's going to be.
- Rocket sending Peter to get the false leg just for shits and giggles.
- Less humourous but Rocket's breakdown at the gambling den was really well done.
- Peter dancing to distract Ronan and it actually working because it was just too 'wtf' even for Ronan. And Gamora's 'hell no' reaction when Peter tried to get her to join in.
- Drax stroking/petting Rocket at the end.
- Dancing baby Groot while Drax cleans his knife. Adorable.
