Witches of East End Thoughts

• I liked the Frederick/Ingrid scene. I liked him comforting her and I thought her freak out was well good. That said this better not be the extent of her reacting and dealing with what happened to her.
• The Dash/Ingrid reunion was lovely. I loved them bonding over being stabbed in the brain. I loved the hug and Wendy/Freya's 'wth' look. I'm really enjoying them.
• Dash's 'hey guys' was amusing. It was just so casual, just popping over to some friends house and very incongruous considering recent history.
• I liked Freya staying in the house to find the grimoire instead of running away. I also liked how she tricked Dash and got the better of him.
• Crazy Dash was actually pretty enjoyable. So did getting all his anger out in the open, and in such an aggressive way, let him let go of it and move on and that's why he was so nice to Freya after? Was he feeling guilty? His attitude towards her has seemingly changed really quickly.
• I'm really glad Alex survived. For a moment there I was worried. Hopefully she shows up again because she's great and I love her relationship with Joanna.
• I'm really not a fan of how rapey this season has been. Not only Mandragora/Ingrid but now Eva/Killian as well.
• Why the hell did Wendy stop Frederick from helping Hudson? He was already dying! There wasn't much Frederick could do to make the situation worse. I was really expecting it to come up after Hudson's death and cause a rift between Ingrid and Wendy. In fact I hope it does get brought up and that happens simply because I think Wendy was so wrong there.
• Frederick saving Wendy from the mandragora isn't really a good reason to suddenly now trust him. I mean it's not like if he was up to something nefarious he would have stabbed Wendy. How would that have done anything but get his family to turn on him?
2x07 'Art of Darkness'
• Killian was pretty dumb to confront Eva by himself instead of immediately going to his brother for help. (The last time we saw them their relationship seemed to be at a very good place.) Or if not Dash then to Freya. I mean, he even told himself that she was erasing his memories! Idiot.
• Dash/Ingrid were great. I loved their dance. That said I'm kind of disappointed that Dash secretly killed the guy and then lied to her about it. Mostly the lied part. I wouldn't mind them going dark together, or him slowly going dark and her knowing about it and trying to save him. I just want them in it together.
• Dash lied very convincingly. I almost believed him and I actually saw what happened. He also seems committed to dealing with his problems with deadly violence which isn't great. At least with this one he was smart about it.
• I liked the Ingrid/Freya fight. I like how it played out.
• I find myself interested in seeing Ingrid/Killian interact now. If anyone can understand what's happened to them this season - memory messed with, used, raped - it's each other and I'd be interested in seeing them actually helping each other deal with it when he's finally free.
• If I was Wendy I'd be demanding a cut in Ronan's art.
2x08 'Sex, Lies, and Birthday Cake'
• Dash sleeping with some random woman at the beginning - wtf? What was even the point of that if they were just going to have Dash/Ingrid sleep together later. To add a little bit of conflict first? Why was that even necessary? It was really pointless and annoying.
• Wow, Ingrid learned the truth, and basically all of it, really quickly. I was expecting this to be drawn out a lot longer.
• Why would Dash leave the very incriminating blackmail photos open on his computer? Why the hell didn't he immediately delete them? So contrived.
• What secret was Dash going to confess to Ingrid? I have a hard time believing he'd confess about killing Kyle's dad after his bang up job in both getting away with it and lying to her. About what happened with Killian? He had the photos open on his computer because he was angsting over telling her about it? What else is there to tell her?
• Wendy not spelling Tommy is so going to end in disaster. During their discussion I was waiting for one of them to mention his daughter and the potential danger to her.
• So Killian was in Asgard too, huh. Does that mean that he and Freya were star-crossed from the very beginning? Is things never working out for them a Curse? Perhaps for the bad things he did there (if you believe Freddie)? If he was in Asgard why is Frederick the only one who remembers him?
• Is Eva stealing her children's lives/youth in order to stay young herself or alive? But then why would her daughter be so worried for her? And she seemed genuinely upset about her daughter dying. Is Eva under a Curse?
• So just how truthful was Tarkoff being about being in love with Joanna? He seemed sincere. But if he truly loved her why would he side with her father? I wonder if Joanna returning his feelings could lead to him turning against the king? I feel like this is not going to end in a way that's going to help Joanna's intimacy issues.
