The Revenge season four promo looks great… except Victoria going for revenge against Emily doesn’t work quite so well. With Emily we could cheer her on – her life was ruined by the Grayson's and it made her sympathetic. The lives she destroyed were more often than not people who deserved it. Victoria, while certainly wronged by Emily, was in the wrong in the first place. The death of ‘the love of her life’ – which side note I thought that was supposed to be David Clarke? – is something she already got revenge for when she murdered Aiden. If the show is expecting us to cheer for Victoria I really don’t know how well that’s going to work. That said, I am definitely looking forward to the next round of Emily vs Victoria especially now that Victoria knows who she is and David is back in the picture.

Doctor Who 8x04 'Listen'

I liked most of the episode, it was very atmospheric and creepy, but I didn't care so much for the end.

• First to get it out of the way - I didn't like the Clara/child Doctor bit at the end. It annoyed me, to be honest. It's not that I'm against learning more of the Doctor's past, though I would prefer most of it to remain a mystery, nor did I have an issue with Clara's actions as far as they concern her. No, my issue is Clara once again becoming so entangled with the Doctor's life. I think if she'd left when she'd first started to I would have less of an issue with it. Instead she stays and whispers to the Doctor and a part of him remembers it, and internalises it and she ends up becoming something that forms him into what will make him the Doctor. The Doctor is always affected by his Companions but it shouldn't be like this.

• Clara and the Doctor were great. I liked his worry for her when she was upset after leaving the children's home and him attempting to make small talk while waiting in the ship. The hug at the end was delightful ("No, no, no I'm against the hugging.", hee). I do enjoy their relationship.

Plus I find her bossing him around fun. Twelve is serious and kind of harsh so I enjoy it when she does things like smack him upside the head for scaring a child, or telling him to 'shut up' or 'sit' and he does it. I really loved this exchange:

"I don't take orders Clara." - Doctor
(gently) "Do as you're told." - Clara

I love the trust he showed here. This whole episode was about his curiosity and need to know. He opened the door of the ship and stayed because of it. He has to know. But she told him no, she told him he couldn't and even though he had to have guessed where they were he listened. I also really loved her gentleness with him here. I didn't like the couple minutes preceding it but this scene was beautiful.

• This was a pretty creepy episode. I loved the scenes in young Danny's bedroom - the bed depressing while they were under it, the thing under the blanket, the urgency of trying not to look at it... well done.

• I really liked the Clara/Orson interactions. I loved the tension over the uncertainty of whether or not he's her descendant.

• I like the tie in with the barn in The Day of the Doctor. I really like the idea that the Doctor went back to his childhood home to set of the Moment and end the time war (and all he thought that entailed).

"Oh, the human race. You're never happy." - Doctor. You know, it seems to me that Twelve doesn't love humans as much as previous Doctors. There's a... joy he took in them that seems to be missing this go around.

• I liked the dialogue. Particularly:

- "And I have a mouth on me. Seriously, it's got a mind of it's own, I'm worried it wants to go solo." - Clara

- "Why are you all eyes? Get them under control." - Doctor to Clara

- "Do you have your own mood lighting now? Because frankly the accent is enough." - Clara to the Doctor.

• I love that the Doctor is so used to making huge mistakes in when and where he lands that something that's even close is enough to make him think he landed right.

• LOL to the Doctor taking the caretakers drink and being pleasantly surprised by how good it was.
