iariaA Promise to the Dead
I liked it.
• I love that Eichen House has a ward for supernatural creatures.
• I loved the Derek/Scott scene. Derek being so understanding about why Scott kept the money for so long, Derek's laugh when Scott asked wide-eyed if there was another vault, Scott's expression when he thought there was another vault (lol), Scott's worry about Derek and trying to reassure him that they were working to help him. I really love their relationship.
• Just how rich were the Hales if 117 million was all Peter's money? How much does Derek have?? I love that Derek is all sensible with his money - no vault safe for him, it's in property and actual banks. Although I suppose officially dead Peter couldn't have a bank account (under his name) and a hidden vault only a Hale could access is pretty safe.
• I really love how Derek seems to have reached some sort of peace. He smiles and even laughs a lot more. He's - calm. He isn't angry all the time - perhaps because he no longer needs anger as an anchor for control? But then in 3B he was doing pretty well. I'm just hoping that when he gets his abilities back (and he will because he's not dying) he'll have found a new anchor and will be able to keep his peace.
• Aww to Derek letting Scott use his loft for a date. That's really sweet.
• Still loving Malia. I loved her glee over her math score and her kissing Stiles awake because he's turning his brain towards searching for her mom. The funniest moment of the episode was her happy 'Deer' response to what her favourite food is, lol. Now I just want her and Derek to go deer hunting together.
- Which - okay, Malia now knows that she is biologically a Hale and yet we haven't gotten one scene between her and Derek since! Does Derek even know she's his cousin?
• I'm also still really liking Mason and Mason/Liam. He is such a good friend to Liam. Hopefully next season he learns the truth and gets added to the pack.
• If you don't want to be with us that's okay but don't push your friends away too." - Scott. This was a nice little moment. I vastly prefer seeing Scott being a good alpha like this over being told how great he is like when Brett was telling Liam how lucky he was. That may we have been something Liam needed to hear but I found it eyerolling.
• Chris going after Kate alone, without even telling anyone where he was going, was so very dumb. The last time he tangled with her and her berserkers he got his ass kicked and he had Scott with him that time. So dumb.
• I really wish it had been Derek in the sewers. I loved the Derek/Chris relationship in 3B but this season has given us nothing between them since Chris's return. He should have been the one to find Chris. It would have made complete sense for him to have been following Peter.
• Loved Deaton at the beginning. Saving the girl, kicking ass, risking his life to help save Derek. I really love that he's been looking this whole time for what Kate did to Derek. Also him saying it's because he made a promise to "a woman I loved" makes me want some Deaton/Talia flashbacks so much. [Also now I want to read an AU where Deaton took Derek and Laura in after the fire.
• I really liked the Scott/Melissa scene.
• Why doesn't Kira even use electricity against her enemies? All I could think during her fight with the berserker was why didn't she use the electricity from the lights against him? I love her fighting skills but electricity is her actual power as a kitsune and it'd be nice to see her using that.
