Witches of East End 2x12 & 2x13 Thoughts
Oct. 31st, 2014 01:21 pm2x12 'Box to the Future'
• Lovely Joanna/Wendy scene at the beginning.
• Killian taking the potion was so stupid. Not necessarily for using the potion - because, hey, he is reincarnated over and over so sacrificing one life for the good of all the others that follow doesn't seem like that bad of an idea - but rather because he just went along with two strangers, friends of a woman who lied and drugged him and who seemed to blame him for her death, with absolutely no effort to check that the potion was exactly what they said it was. Why the hell would he just accept that it did what they said it did? He didn't even bother to try and research it or ask the Beauchamps about it. Idiot.
• I like that they explained that in past lives people don't actually look the same - what we're seeing is actually their souls - which explains why Joanna and Wendy never realised who Killian/Dash were.
• Why does Ingrid trust Dash? I mean considering all the killing and lying that's probably not the best idea.
• The show keeps telling us how powerful and scary Joanna is but I really wish they would show it more. Tarkoff got the box mcgruffin away from her and then rendered her unconscious waaayyy too easily.
• Why wouldn't Ingrid tell Dash about Killian? Sure, Killian didn't want him involved but he's the idiot dying from taking a potion he knew nothing about.
2x13 'For Whom the Bell Tolls'
• I liked the Dash/Ingrid scene where he reassures her that he'll keep her part in covering up the murder a secret no matter what happens. Dash got pretty unlikable at times but I still ship Dash/Ingrid, idk why. Hopefully the baby actually is his and not the mandragora's.
• Why the hell wouldn't Joanna and Wendy have killed Tarkoff while they had him down and helpless? They're not exactly squeamish about killing. That made no sense.
• The fact that Joanna dropped the box and it was destroyed (?!) really did make that whole interlude pointless.
• Just because Fredrick isn't one of the parts of the spell (Key, Dagger, Traveller, Bridge) doesn't mean he (and Dash) can't go with them as backup or distraction! The only thing they can't do is the actual spell. Geez, you guys. So dumb.
• The Beauchamps killing the king was way too easy.
• Oh, Wendy. I really loved that she gave her last life to bring Tommy back to life. I'd probably be more upset about it if I thought she was actually dead.
• Wendy is clearly going to be returning. Joanna and the girls will save her from the underworld, somehow. Probably end up inadvertently bringing back the dead sister Elena (probably as next season's antagonist). But it looks like Frederick is sincerely dead and gone. Or maybe they'll find him in the underworld as well. I'm hoping yes because I feel like there is still so much left to mine in his relationship with his family.
• Dash switching bodies with Killan - sigh, he is such an idiot. Of course they're going to figure out the truth. In fact it will probably be fairly easy to do so.
• I really hate how rapey this season was - Ingrid and the Mandragora and Eva with Killian and then in this episode Tarkoff/Joanna and Dash-in-Killian's-body with Freya (presumably). Ugh. It's just all so gross.
• So Raven is the witch killer, clearly. That could be an interesting storyline.
