Revenge 4x01 Thoughts

I really enjoyed it. It was the fun kind of crazy.
• Nolan/Emily were wonderful as always. His entrance to the party was delightful. Everything about it was great and I loved Emily's quiet "I love." and Nolan's smile and kiss to her head. I loved Nolan confronting her about her continuing her revenge schemes. I loved her calling him and actually honestly opening up emotionally to him. They really are the best part of this show. I love them so much.
• "You're a snowflake. A unique, bloodthirsty snowflake." - Nolan. Hee.
• I really love what the show did with Emily. The show having Emily addicted to revenge, unable to move on her life and become Amanda again, unable to let go worked so well for me. Of course she wouldn't. I love that she moved on to trying to get revenge for someone else who was hurt. Clearly the answer is for her to start a revenge company with Nolan. Sure, he's not feeling it right now but he enjoyed their revenge games sometimes too and no one got killed this time. It's Nolan and Emily, she can totally bring him over to the side of righteous revenging again. At the same time I also liked that Nancy didn't want revenge.
• "The thirst has become part of me. I don't know who I am without it. Maybe I don't want to." Nothing showed this better than her reaction to seeing Victoria - she was pleased. Victoria showing up vowing revenge was the best thing that could have happened to her, in her opinion.
• "Everyone I've loved is gone. The Graysons killed them all. They left me nothing to go back to. This is all I have left." - Emily. HEY, not true. She has BFF Nolan who is clearly very much there for her and who knows her better than everyone. She still has Jack's friendship. Charlotte is still alive and while she hates Emily there is always the chance of winning her back over if she really tried. She can become involved in Amanda's son's life more. Emily has people.
• I really wasn't sure about Emily living in the Grayson Manor but this episode sold it. Her not being able to live in her own house after Aiden makes sense. Her buying the Grayson house keeps her close but separate and it's sort of a cap on her revenge - taking their home and making it her own, taking over Victoria's role in the Hamptons.
• Victoria's escape was great and I loved the shot of her confidently walking down the hall holding the umbrella as chaos reigned around her.
• I loved Nolan giving Margaux hints about her brother in order to protect Charlotte (even though it also meant helping Daniel and possibly getting on Gideon's bad side.)
• And Charlotte is spiralling into self-destructive behaviour, of course she is. You know, having Charlotte on a revenge vendetta against Emily could be fun but mostly I just want them to do something interesting with her.
• I liked Nancy. I hope we see her again because Emily could use a normal friend like her.
