4x02 'Disclosure'

+ I loved Emily finally telling Charlotte the truth and sincerely opening up to her. I also loved how Charlotte first reacted. Her anger at Emily made perfect sense as did her storming off. She was completely right that Emily prioritised revenge over having a relationship with her. I felt bad for both of them. One thing that wasn't really addressed was Amanda and I want to see that discussion.

+ Holy crap to Charlotte attempting to kill Emily. Just, holy crap.

+ Charlotte has to be really out of to think she could get away with Emily's murder when she walked right out of the smoking bar in front of witnesses and even told one of them that there was no one else in there. She's pretty famous, especially in the Hamptons, so I'm sure she won't be forgotten. Also I feel like the show might be trying to set up an out for the fire with Jack's talk of faulty wiring but that type of fire in no way looks like a bar doused in kerosene and set on fire.

+ Nolan comforting Emily about Charlotte was wonderful as usual. And completely right too.

+ David is a lot more broken than I was expecting. He doesn't seem to be all there. I was definitely expecting him to be a lot more... like Emily actually. Competent, intelligent, kind of scary, revengy.

+ Oh Victoria. It's a great revenge - turning David to work against Emily - but only if she can pull it off and here's the thing: she can't. Not long term. This is going to blow up in her face. David is eventually going to learn the truth about Amanda/Emily and that is not going to go well for Victoria especially if he does manage to do some sort of damage to her in the meanwhile.

+ It annoys me that David killed Conrad for Victoria when in his confession Conrad admitted to having Amanda killed. If he killed Conrad for any reason it should be for Amanda clearly. Super irritated about this.

4x03 'Ashes'

Okay episode but it mostly felt like filler.

+ The Clarke's are so messed up. Murder is way too common a response for them. I was sure when David went to Emily's house she'd have the childhood picture beside her bed, he'd see it and that's why he wouldn't shoot her.

+ I loved Nolan saving Emily and the fact that he was staying at her place because he was worried about her.

+ I liked the Emily/Jack scene.

+ I loved the shotgun showdown between Emily and Victoria. But Emily telling Victoria to shoot - was it just her bluffing or was her inner hurting Amanda peaking out, feeling suicidal/hopeless?

+ I hope now that time has passed Charlotte is thinking about things, re-considering everything that's happened with the knowledge that it was Amanda doing it. The fact that Victoria gave her credit for clearing David's name should at least make her think. David's a real person now which should make her more able to understand Emily. Or not.

+ Daniel is a horrible brother - he learned that Charlotte tried to kill herself and didn't bother to go see her? What? I definitely remember him being a better brother than that.

+ Margaux was not wrong when she told Victoria "this is what family does." On this show families do indeed manipulate and lie to each other as par for the course.
