Full House Episodes 10 & 11 Thoughts
Feb. 20th, 2010 10:18 pmEpisode 10
• When Ji Eun asked Young Jae if it would be okay if she liked Min Hyuk back I couldn’t tell if it meant that she did like him or if she was trying to get Young Jae to tell her it wasn’t alright. I also wasn’t sure about her confession about Min Hyuk – was it to lead the conversation to her question or was it to lead to Young Jae confessing himself about Hye Woo? They’ve made it very gray and up to interpretation here.
• I did really like the Ji Eun/Hye Woo scene. We don’t get enough of those. It would have been nice if they could have been friends (a la Jan Di/Jae Kyong). I liked how Hye Woo was so honest and so open, she bared everything in front of Ji Eun, and that took guts.
- It appears that Hye Woo has realised that she likes Young Jae like that. Her asking Ji Eun to help her get Young Jae back though was... I don’t even know. I’m going to assume that she now doesn’t think Ji Eun has any feelings for him. But for Ji Eun to respond by saying he married her because he likes Hye Woo, well it doesn’t tell everything re: the proposal, but it was still practically pushing Hye Woo into Young Jae’s arms.
• When Young Jae apologised and said he was wrong while she was sleeping I assumed that he wouldn’t say it to her when she was awake. When he basically did but did it even better I was very pleased with him. I liked his promise to call and his explanation that he’s not used to someone waiting for him and I especially loved his “You’re not a person who’s nothing to me.” because that really needed to be taken back.
- Considering just unhappy he was for her to bring up divorcing and his glee at getting her to sign a new contract with his one stipulation of making it three years of marriage you’d think he would realise that he really does like her.
• I also really enjoyed the Ji Eun/Min Hyuk scenes – him buying her flowers and just enjoying the day with her, him telling her his ‘what ifs’ and then asking her to give him a chance too... he is so wonderful to her. I mean: “Because you’re happy that makes me happy too.” What do you say to that? Poor Min Hyuk, so sweet and so deeply fallen for Ji Eun, and yet it’s only going to end in heartbreak for him.
• There was some fun this episode too – the dream/story with Young Jae cowering from Ji Eun’s amorous advances was hilarious. Him dancing and singing to make her happy after yelling and insulting her again was kind of sweet. I loved all of Ji Eun’s long list of contract demands and how they caught Young Jae by surprise because he didn’t read before signing and her glee over it.
• I’m continuing to love her interactions with her in-laws. I loved them taking her to the doctor and grandmother asking for fertility drugs for Ji Eun, that made me laugh. I really loved her confessing to him how much she loves them and how hard it will be to lose them.
Episode 11
Wow, that final scene was a killer one.
• The episode starts with Young Jae telling her her heart is her own and ends with her confessing that she loves him and this time not letting him wave it off as a joke. I loved the final scene. Everything about it was perfect. Young Jae’s increasingly frantic efforts to deny her a divorce, to convince her that they can’t divorce including bringing up his parents was moving. Ji Eun telling him that his family loves Hye Woo really got to me.
And when she asked “Don’t you see that I’m in pain. It’s because it hurts that I can’t go on.” – god, poor Ji Eun. As did the fact that Young Jae was willing to let her love and be with Min Hyuk but wouldn’t divorce her. Ouch. He is so in love with her. When she said that she was in pain you could see that it hurt him to hear that. But the ball really is in his court now because he knows she is in love with him but she still believes that he loves Hye Woo more than her and wants to be with Hye Woo.
It actually makes me want to read a fic now where Hye Woo doesn’t let him out of his promise and they marry but he spends the rest of his life loving Ji Eun, making it a ‘be careful what you wish for’ for Hye Woo. That Ji Eun marries Min Hyuk and loves him but never stops loving Young Jae and then theres angst. (I see a scene in my mind where post-divorce Ji Eun sees grandmother and starts to call her that but stops and calls her by name instead and it’s all angst.) Angst, angst, angst.
