+ I'm very torn about the David/Emily part of this episode. The way they would talk for a minute, then break off without resolving anything, only to do it again annoyed me. David annoyed me. Emily deserves much better than this. But on the other hand, it shouldn't be smooth going. Not after everything that's happened. I think my main issue is the way David is still loyal to Victoria to the extent of choosing her over Emily Amanda. It makes him look so naive and honestly kind of horrible. But then we know what she's done to Emily and he doesn't. Which is why I really want Emily to give him a list of everything that Victoria did already. If he still chooses her after that then he is a lost cause.

+ So David just learned that his beloved daughter, who he hasn't seen since she was 9 and who he thought had died, is actually alive and standing right in front of him and he chooses to go with Victoria to the hospital?! ASSHOLE, omg.

+ "You were scared." - David, lol.

+ The whole idea that David was taken from prison by a "powerful rival" of Conrad's and forced to do terrible things with threats against Amanda is so ridiculous to me and not necessarily in a good way. The latter half of the sentence works for me - I can buy him doing terrible things to protect his daughter and escaping when that leverage was gone. But the idea that it was some rival of Conrad is just dumb. Where the hell was this supposed rival during the previous three seasons? Why've we never heard of them? It'd have worked better if they hadn't tried to connect it to Conrad.

+ Nolan posting a pic from the club with #never leaving amused me. Oh, Nolan.

+ Once again I really enjoyed the Daniel/Emily scene. In fact when Daniel's with Emily I actually enjoy him (which makes it too bad that he's such an ass most of the time). Daniel's "Are you crying because my mom survived?" was pretty hilarious. I also liked that he called Emily on her obsession with Victoria and on giving up on David so easily. I still think Daniel's having a resurgence of feelings for Emily. He had an excuse for being at the house but that's exactly what it was - just an excuse. He sought her out, he kept talking to her. Again his attitude was pretty mild and agreeable. He laughed. He reached out to Emily. He was almost supportive.

+ I feel like we aren't getting enough Emily --> Nolan friendship and it's leaving me pretty unhappy. We've gotten a lot of Nolan supporting Emily and his unconditional love for her, including in this episode where he gives her good advice and is his usual supportive self, but on Emily's side - nothing. Yeah, she's been having a difficult time lately but damn it so has he. The public backlash against him is in large part her fault but she didn't ask after him once, or offer him any support. She didn't even confront David about the way he treated him - possibly not the right time but that is a scene I really want. I was really hoping during their last scene for something but nope. I just want more scenes of them simply being friends.

Nolan: Good news and bad news. Victoria is still alive.
Emily: What's the good news?
Nolan: They're keeping her heavily sedated to monitor the irregular rhythm of her heart. Turns out she has one.

LOL.

+ Of course, Emily would be going behind David's back and looking into who is after him. She has a revenge addiction. I can't believe that Nolan fell for it. Kind of annoying that she's keeping him in the dark.

+ Victoria did pretty good spinning the Victoria/Emily saga in her favour. I was also impressed with her trick with her heart monitor.

+ "Can't I just have a normal friend?" Hee, poor Nolan. I can't blame him for backing away from a friendship with Louise after discovering her Victoria obsession but I'm kind of sad about it all the same because Nolan/Louise are actually pretty enjoyable. And for one day they were a good friend that each of them really needed.

+ Nolan deciding to use Louise's obsession with Victoria against Victoria is great ("I've got a crazy missile with her name on it.", lol) but I think Emily's influence is really showing when he also decided to leverage Margaux's desire to get Louise to help his image problems. That part was self-serving and kind of undeservedly harsh towards Louise. Sure, she's tried to kill someone but he doesn't know that. Margaux never told him that. So all he knows is that Louise has been nothing but nice and supportive towards him and she has a hidden obsession with Victoria. Now if that knowledge led him to go to Margaux to learn the reasons why she thinks Louise is so terrible and then decided to make a deal with her that would be one thing. But he doesn't. He just learns about her obsession and immediately throws her under the bus for his own gain. Harsh.

+ I find Jack, and Ben, pretty boring. I like Jack's friendships with Emily and Nolan - the exchange between Jack/Emily at the hospital was nice - but honestly if he was gone I wouldn't miss him. I don't care about his storyline and I don't care about Ben.
