The Fog of War

• I loved all the little glimpses of leader Clarke and the, thus far quiet, ways she's starting to butt up against her mother. Her reassuring Bellamy that he wouldn't be by himself if he went after their people was her in a nutsheell. Her telling Murphy "Just because they pardoned you doesn't mean I have." was fabulous. I loved that line.

On the trek the Clarke/Raven/Abby scene where she takes charge and Raven reacts as if that's exactly how it should be - first she asks for the binoculars and Raven gives them to her and then she says they should make camp and Raven nods and then immediately heads to do that.

• I love Raven's complete trust and belief in Clarke. Her going to Clarke with the whole jamming of the radio signals situation. How unconcerned she was when Clarke and Finn got caught out in the acid fog. The above scene. And this - "Tough call. I know what Clarke would do." which felt like Raven grading Abby on her performance as a leader with Clarke as the go to example. Lovely.

• Okay, do none of these people understand that a leader is supposed to stay with their people, and you know, lead?

• Bellamy and Octavia heading off to do reconnaissance together was great. I really loved Bellamy hesitating to shoot Lincoln because Octavia loves him and Octavia shooting Lincoln to protect Bellamy. Such a great moment perfectly encapsulating their love for each other.

• The Commander of the Grounders is a woman. Of course she is. Because that's how the Grounder's roll - women are in charge. Awesome. I loved her going undercover in order to get the measure of their captives. And of course she kicks ass. The only issue I have is with how young she is. Considering her position she should be older.

• Holy crap, Finn killed 18 people! I thought it was more like half a dozen, 10 at most. Including children. Just wow. I can't believe he was pardoned. No punishment at all even. You'd think it'd deserve at least 10 shock lashes. I can understand on the axis of they're outnumbered and are circling the wagons. He's one of them regardless. But this deserves way more response than this. I mean he pretty much singlehandedly ruined any chance of the Ark people and the Grounder's having an alliance.

- Considering how much the Grounder's seem to be in favour of 'an eye for an eye' I wonder if offering Finn up as sacrifice, or you know given to the Grounder's for punishment for what he did, would even the score between the two peoples?

We did what we had to do." - Finn. Oh, Finn. Is that what he's telling himself? Because he is very, very wrong. It definitely felt like a call back to Bellamy/Clarke's fireside chat in the last episode (and actually a couple other times) which just emphasises how wrong he is. He also states that it was an accident which - how? That's just trying to rewrite history.

• The time jump skipped a couple things I wanted to see. Raven's reaction to what Finn did mainly. But I also really wanted to see what happened right after. I assume Clarke and the others stayed to help. I can't see Clarke or Octavia willing to just leave people dying. Did they send Finn away? Did they have to leave immediately because Grounder reinforcements came?

• I thought there was a weird lack of Raven/Finn. They did have a couple moments but I guess I was expecting - more. They've known each other forever and he's just massacred 18 people so I was expecting something! It really stuck out when Finn/Clarke returned to camp after the acid fog and we got a Clarke/Abby reunion hug but Raven just hung back for a minute before finally approaching Finn. And when she does address the whole situation she basically brushes what he did off. 'We all have battle scars', wth? It wasn't a battle, it was a massacre of helpless people. WTF, Raven? It was just off.

• I've been mainly neutral on Maya but she really stepped up this episode.

• I loved Jasper and Monty deciding to buy time for Clarke to rescue them by getting people to volunteer. I wonder how many people know the truth? I really adore how much faith they have in Clarke.

• I love the fact that everyone knows what the treatments really are but it's basically a dark open secret that nobody talks about. Did we know that everyone had to have treatments? I'd assumed that it was only for the people who went outside. The fact that they are, as a people, dying makes their actions - not less wrong and horrifying but a little more understandable.
