+ "I will always watch out for Emily." I love how Nolan is doing his best to protect Ems, including from herself, while not encouraging her revenge addiction.
+ I was really bothered in the last episode by the way Nolan so easily threw Louise under the bus so I liked how upset he was when she confronted him about it, as he should have been, and that in the end he decided to stop helping Margaux. Hopefully his change of mind will lead to them making up and having more scenes.
They're weirdly adorable together, their Lucy/Ethel bit was cute, and I'm just really enjoying them. Plus despite her being crazy and dangerous I feel really sorry for Louise. She was completely right in everything she said to Nolan. He was a dick and he betrayed her while she's been nothing but a good friend to him. I kind of just want her to have a someone to talk with and to have her back.
+ I liked David much more this episode. I loved everything between him and Victoria. Him calling Victoria on not telling him about the Amanda/Emily connection and on her abandoning him for ten years was great. I like that he isn't just accepting what she says and that he hasn't forgiven and forgotten everything that's happened like it sometimes feels like he has. Now I just really want a confrontation about everything Victoria has done to Emily.
+ "I'm not going anywhere without my daughter." This is all I need from David - for him to choose her over Victoria and everything else. For his love and loyalty to be towards her. I liked that they made his love and concern for Amanda so clear. From this quote to him approaching Nolan for help protecting her it was great.
+ David's apology to Nolan was nice but definitely not enough and not just because of the ruined reputation. Nolan idolized and loved David, he still does I'm sure, and right now he is so hurt. Things are awkward between them right now for obvious reasons not the least because David himself is pretty awkward, but he was pretty distant too. I just want Nolan to get his father figure back. I want them and Emily to be a family.
+ David approaching Nolan would be the perfect opportunity for David to help Nolan to repair his reputation. Have them share a couple lunches at the club, be shown to have made up, hell throw a hug in there and the media following David up will immediately pick up on it. It would be a start. Although David did say "I owe you an apology" fairly loudly in a room where there were other people, so you'd think one of them would have heard him and would talk about it.
+ I love that when Nolan freed the attacker from Emily's clutches he didn't just trust that he'd leave but stuck a newly created tracker so that he could keep tabs on him.
+ Seriously Emily, be a better friend!
+ Still continuing to enjoy Daniel/Emily. Their bar scene was great. I love how they are so honest with each other. This time it was Emily giving him some hard truths. I love Daniel's new found peace with her. It really seems like learning the truth about her has erased any hatred and anger he had and I'm really enjoying that aspect. I'd love for him to become an ally. Also this: "Best woman I've been with in years, no offense." The great thing about this line is that I completely believe that he didn't mean it as a dig!
+ Malcolm Black is still not really working for me though hopefully that will change when he actually shows up. I just find the whole story hard to buy. Why the hell would he fake David's death and steal him from jail? There are so many easier ways to get money launders.
+ Victoria's stated desire to make David happy and make peace with Emily was clearly bullshit from the start but I'm still surprised by how short a time it lasted. Maaaybeee she did actually mean it for a second there but the instant she feels threatened she lashes out. I really don't see how things can end well for her. Maybe if she'd been honest and tried from the start of David's return, turned over a new leaf, but as is? No, I don't want to see that.
+ Ben is still boring and so is Ben/Emily.
+ Someone is going to die in the next episode and I find that I don't want it to be Daniel, because I'm really enjoying him with Emily, and yet I really think it will be him. While his scenes with Emily are excellent and him freezing out Victoria is great Daniel isn't really doing anything substantial. He's mostly just there. Plus they have him trying to make amends with Emily, and the unresolved anger at his mom and his several times stated desire to be kept out of the revenge shenanigans. That all feels like foreshadowing.
I very much doubt that the show will kill Jack. He's Emily's childhood BFF and I think the show still intends for them to be end game, plus they've tried to make him plot/Emily useful by making him a cop. Also Carl. I don't see it happening. Even with him making time with the corrupt FBI agent. I actually don't even want him to die - he's boring but I do like his friendships with Emily and Nolan. It's just I've been enjoying the Daniel/Emily scenes more. Possibly residual season one shippy feelings?
In any case I don't think there is any other option besides them. Emily's obviously safe. Nolan should be too (or he damn well better be because if he goes I go too! Don't even think about it show ):). I can't see them killing David (he just returned and it would feel like such a rip off if they killed him now) nor Victoria (still too soon for that to happen if it ever will, plus it really wouldn't add anything to the show to kill her right now). That leaves... Margaux? Is she considered a main character? Would they kill newly pregnant Margaux? That would be random. Charlotte's gone or I'd consider her having a giant target on her head and Ben/Louise aren't main characters. So... probably Daniel. Sad. He was becoming interesting again!
