Atonement

I really wish I hadn't known going in that someone was going to die because it made me tense the whole episode looking at everything with an eye of 'is this a hint that this person is doomed?' and wondering how it would happen. It was actually kind of annoying and yet I couldn't stop myself.

Despite that this was a great episode.

+ Yeah, I knew it was going to be Daniel. I've been pretty sure since I knew a main character was going to die, throughout the episode all signs pointed to him and as soon as he told his mom: "I'm done running. I hope you are too." my immediate thought was 'yup, he's a goner'. I'm surprisingly really sad about that. He's been great this season and I've been genuinely loving him with Emily. It looked like he was well on his way to righting his path and becoming a good person again and I'm sad that we aren't going to see that.

That said, I do like how he died. I like that he spent the episode deciding to change his life, to be a better person. I like that as soon as he heard the fight at Emily's house he ran towards it. I like that he refused to leave Emily. I like that he shielding Emily from Kate's bullets. He died a hero, and the exact opposite of his father, and that's the best he could have asked for.

+ "I want you to know that it wasn't all a lie. Not with you." / "I know. I know." Sniff. I knew too. That was a really beautiful moment. I'm so sad that there's now no chance for Daniel and Emily to get back together, or to become friends like I think they would have.

+ I'm glad that Emily got to tell Daniel how she felt before he died in her arms unlike Amanda. I guess she learned her lesson there. I'm also glad that before he died Daniel and Margaux made up and he died knowing that she wanted him in their lives.

+ Nolan/Louise were everything I wanted. Their make up scene was wonderful. I love so much that they're friends again. I loved them taking a selfie and dancing together. I love Nolan possibly inducting Louise into revenge club. I love this: "We would be like the wonder twins of gossip. What do you say?" / "I say - wonder twins activate." Adorable!

+ I wish Kate hadn't been killed because I finally found her interesting. The fact that she's Maxwell's daughter could have been fun to explore. Her interactions with Emily were great. The fight was excellent. She could have been a great foil/enemy for Emily.

+ "When does anything go right for the host of a Hampton's party, with you on the guest list?" - Nolan. LMAO. And actually in this case it did for once!

+ Okay, what did I miss?? Why the hell was David planning to murder Victoria? How was that going to help his situation with Maxwell Black? I don't understand. I'm not against this twist I just want to know why.

+ Emily's plan was actually really good and well set up - have everything happen at her house where innocent bystanders couldn't get involved, taking the gun's clip, the security cameras catching a confession - but she made one mistake: where the hell was her backup?? What good is having Jack as a cop if not to bring a gun and badge to her problems. She should have had someone there, pointing a gun at Kate, as back-up.

+ I liked Victoria's expression when she learned about Margaux's pregnancy. Their conversation was nice.

+ I liked the Victoria/Daniel conversation. Kind of surprised that she didn't arrive before he died. It makes me glad that they had that small moment at the bar.

+ Victoria deciding to be honest with David and confessing her role in him being sent away is certainly a start but we'll see if that continues. There is still a whole lot for her to confess.

+ Wait, so it was Victoria's idea to use David as a patsy for the bombing not Conrad's? Wow, that is even more of a betrayal than I always thought.

+ Victoria turning Maxwell Black's attention to Emily was actually less nefarious then I was expecting. Based on her conversation with Kate it appears that she was simply intending to use Emily as a money source to pay him off rather than using him to get rid of Emily

+ Wow, if Maxwell was pissed before he is going to go nuclear when he learns about his daughter's death.

+ I was so worried about that poison of David's. I was just waiting for Daniel or someone to accidentally drink it. It is still sitting in David's livingroom so I guess there's still time.
