Once Upon a Time 4x10 & 4x11 Thoughts

iaria4x10 'Fall'
• Charming family was delightful. I loved the jail scene with Snow and Charming telling Emma how much they trusted and believed in her. It was a beautiful scene. Emma/Snow in particular got some lovely stuff. I loved Snow's smile when she told Emma "You're talking like a hero.". I loved the eye contact between them during their final scene and Snow giving Emma baby Neal. The only negative really was Henry not being there.
• I'm pleased that Rumple was actually planning on taking Henry with him. Belle was a given but he's shown so little love or even interest in Henry that I wasn't sure. I wish the show had actually dealt with their relationship.
• I loved Emma taking charge at the beginning.
• "The only people who believe in me in this town are Henry and you." - Regina. Whatttt? Um, Emma and Snow??? Especially this season. Both of them have been nothing but supportive with Emma especially trying to be Regina's friend. Does Regina not remember her promise to help Regina get a happy ending? Their whole 'hunt the snow queen' trek that ended in Emma saying she thought they were/could be friends? Snow being super supportive in the last episode?
• "I should know better than to trust blondes by now." - Regina. Uh, was that a dig at Emma?
• Why would Regina locker herself into her vault? Once the spell gets to her it will be easy for her to set herself free. That made no sense. Same with her setting the protection spell around Henry instead of Emma.
• Still really enjoying Emma/Elsa. I liked the Elsa/Anna reunion and the Charming/Kristoff/Anna one as well.
4x11 'Shattered Sight'
Meh.
• I don't hate how the finale confrontation played out. It even made sense that it would be Gerda's letter of love that would get through to Ingrid and that she would choose to sacrifice herself to save the two living people she loved best and to make up for what she'd done. But the execution was really bad.
• I loved the Emma/Ingrid flashbacks. They were actually a retcon that worked really well. They even made Emma's issues make even more sense. I wish we could have gotten more of a reaction after Emma got her memories back.
• Ingrid apparently having been hanging around Storybrooke for the first three years of the show, not getting involved in anything happening and not trying to rebuild a relationship with Emma makes a lot less sense to me. Also her reasoning for setting off the spell also eludes me.
• Overall, while I loved Elizabeth Mitchell's Ingrid/Snow Queen and I loved her connection to Emma her storyline ended up being disappointing. Maybe entirely because of how much I loved her - they didn't use her well enough, imo.
• I loved the Snow/Regina fight. I liked both Snow and Charming reacting when Regina threatened Neal. I liked Charming trying to help Snow defeat Regina when she got her up against the cell. I liked that in the end it was pretty much entirely between Snow and Regina. I liked them all bursting into laughter after the spell broke.
• I liked Anna asking Elsa if she trusted Emma and Elsa telling her that Emma was her friend.
• So our main characters all had ideas for keeping themselves safe but the background characters and random extras that make up Storybrooke were left to fend for themselves? That doesn't seem leaderly like. Granted from what we actually ended up seeing things didn't actually get that dangerous. The show played it a lot more comically.
• "And what are you doing selling ice? You're from Airendale the whole place is frozen!" - Charming. LOL.
• Emma getting prickly over Elsa calling her prickly was great.
• Regina unable to get out of her own containment spell was really dumb. Especially when she was in her vault full of her magic stuff.
• Meh to how they got rid of the ribbons though Emma immediately thinking of Regina amused me. Also seriously leaving her free? Shouldn't they have tried to put up another containment spell? Emma should have known that Regina would try to go after Snow.
• "Emma used that word? Together?" - Hook. LOL. I loved him getting distracted.
• I guess at her core Regina really has changed. She tried to send Anna and Kristoff back to where they came from instead of just killing them.
