I really enjoyed it. Minus one thing it was a great episode.

Top 3 Scenes

1) Belle/Rumplestiltskin.

Holy crap - YES! Yes, yes YES, omg so much yes. That is so freaking long in coming and so deserved. It was beautiful and satisfying and something that I never actually thought I'd get. Belle calling out Rumpel was so perfectly done. I loved her stopping him in his tracks when he immediately started trying to spin things with a firm "It's my turn to talk." and then every time after she was just not buying anything he had to say. It was so great. After three seasons of her constantly believing him even after he lies to her face it was amazing.

"And I lost my way trying to help you find yourself. But not any more." - Belle. Eeeeeeeeeeee! omg. So unbelievably happy right now.

I loved that instead of just leaving Rumple Belle acted decisively and protected the entire town by removing him from it. Her forcing him to cross the town boundary was a great moment. I felt really bad for her even as I was bursting with pride and glee. I even felt a little sorry for Rumple. Robert Carlyle is so good.

2) Emma/Regina bonding.

"I'm not in the mood for a hope speech, Emma." - Regina
"You're mistaking me for my mother. Besides you don't need a speech you need a drinking buddy. Shots?" - Emma.

♥ I loved that Regina called her 'Emma' instead of Swan and the way she said it. So casual. I loved Emma's comeback because it's so true and I especially loved her offering to be drinking buddies and Regina taking her up on it. Yay, for small steps to being actual friends. I like that Regina didn't need Emma's validation to know she had done the right thing. I loved that Emma left Killian to check up on Regina and that she tried to be there for her. I also loved them bonding over Rumpelstiltskin being miserable too and it making Regina feel better.

3) Emma/Henry/Regina

Henry: We call it Operation Mongoose.
Emma: I like it. It's got style. I'm in.
Regina: You are?
Emma: I made you a promise I intend to keep. Everyone deserves their happy ending.

I loved Regina's smile at the end there. She was so surprised when Emma said she was in and then when Emma kept talking you could see Regina believe and her smile of wonder and delight was wonderful. I also loved Emma's reaction to learning about Henry's new operation - she was just so casually, and immediately, accepting.

Liked

+ The Rumplestiltskin/Regina scene at the town line was really great. "As unbelievable as it sounds I want the same for you." I actually believed him. I loved their handclasp. I love that he specifically went to say goodbye to Regina. (He could have easily tracked down Henry himself.) They have a very long, very complicated relationship but it's one where there is honest care for each other. It makes them both much more interesting.

+ The Elsa/Emma goodbye was lovely. I loved how emotional Elsa was over it. I'm really sad to see her go because I really want her to stick around being BFF with Emma. I hope they either show up again or Emma heads over to visit Arendelle.

+ I like to think that Red showed up at the town border not long after Belle forced Rumplestilsskin across and took Belle to a bar to get drunk and then maybe they had a sleepover with ice cream and comforting. (I really wish Red's actress would return to the show.)

+ The second Emma/Hook scene was short but I liked it.

+ I haven't really been feeling Regina/Robin this season but they've been better the last couple episodes and this was another good one. Still don't care about them but their goodbye was sad. I think this would be a good end for Robin Hood but I'm sure he'll be back. It did continue Regina's progress on redemption which was great.

+ The Belle/Henry interactions really amused me. Henry calling her 'grandma' made me laugh and I loved her amused reaction to it and telling him he could call her Belle. Though this scene really probably should have been at the beginning of the season.

+ I liked that when Emma broke into the clocktower to stop Rumpelstiltskin it was Snow who was right there beside her.

+ I liked the Marian/Regina scene. I liked how Marian dealt with the situation. I like that she was so calm when talking to Regina. I loved her saying that she didn't want Robin to stay with her out of pity but that she wanted to be chosen.

Didn't Like

+ My main issue with the episode was that TPTB didn't have Emma figure out that there was something wrong with Hook and look into it. WTH was up with that? She knew something was off with him but instead of investigating she appears to have just shrugged it away. It made no sense. Having Anna ask about Mr. Gold right as she's walking through the doorway so that everyone could figure out that he'd been lying felt super forced. Especially when they'd already written in a way for Emma to figure it out. Letting Emma be smart made so much more sense. Hook was acting weird, she was suspicious, especially with that hand grab before he left and so she looks into it. Because that's who she is. And she figures out that it has something to do with Gold. It would have been a far, far better way to deal with it.

+ The only other issue was that Charming and Snow were really, really backgrounded this episode. In fact I don't really remember Charming at all. Did he do anything?

For the second half of the season I want several things:

1) that Rumplestiltskin doesn't completely take over the 'evil' team-up

2) that the show doesn't forget that Regina and Maleficent were best friends once upon a time. That Maleficent was in fact one of the few people th Evil Queen actually cared about (to a point). I want to see that friendship.

3) More Emma/Henry and Emma/Henry/Regina. They've both been missing in action for much of the season sadly. But based on this episode it looks like that could change.

4) More Charming family and Snow getting to have something to do plotwise.

5) a good explanation for several puzzling things, like:

- what's up with Ursula? Last we saw she appeared to be an uber powerful sea goddess who seemed more neutral than evil. I really liked that version of her. I'm definitely interested to see what she's going to be now but I really want her to keep being super powerful.
- also how the hell did Ursula end up in our world?
- why wasn't the evil queen part of this queen's of darkness club?
- how the hell does Cruela fit in? She is definitely not from the enchanted forest.
- i didn't mention it before because I thought we'd get an answer this ep but are the fairies, and everyone else sucked into the hat, dead dead? Cause that was a very lacklustre end for the Blue Fairy if so.
