Episode 16

+ Ryu/Myung Wol were really sweet. Their date wwas adorable. Ryu's shy happiness and his inability to hide it and his smiles was lovely and sad. I also loved his goodbye to her when he dropped her off at Kang Woo's place.

+ A part of me wishes that the show had done this earlier even knowing that the Ryu/Myung Wol relationship would always have been doomed. As it is we never really had a true triangle because for all that Ryu loves Myung Wol she never felt the same way and never really had the chance to. This episode actually made me think that they could have had a chance if Ryu had confessed earlier.

+ The fact that both Ryu and Kang Woo's visions of a future with/for Myung Wol both had her as a stay-at-home wife and mother made me kind of annoyed. Certainly neither were thinking about what she wanted. Ryu knew she wanted to be a spy/in the service. And why would Kang Woo think she would be happy to give up her new career?

+ Kang Woo jumping in front of the sniper's bullet was really ridiculous in the 'that's not even possible' way. So dumb. Also how did he notice the sniper but not spy Myung Wol?

Episode 17

Meh.

+ I really hated how passive Myung Wol continues to be. Yeah, she threatened Ryu but for the most part she was just there, not doing much accept looking sad and torn.

+ I disliked her decision to leave Kang Woo in order to protect him.

+ I'm confused about what exactly their plan is. At the end Ryu negotiates with Chairman Joo for Myung Wol (and him?) to be smuggled back North... except Myung Wol has a death sentence on her and Ryu killed a loyal operative in his quest to protect her. I'm pretty sure all that's waiting for them North is death. Ryu even points this out earlier in the episode! As a way to get out from between the rock and the hard place that they're currently in this doesn't really seem like a good choice.

+ I was also annoyed by Ryu and Myung Wol returning to Hee Bok's place for shelter. All four of them should have been out of there immediately. Hee Bok and Ok Soon are Myung Wol's 'parents' and if the NSA knows she's a spy then they should damn well know everything about her fake life. The house should have been swarming with agents.

+ One thing I did love was Ok Soon admonishing Hee Bok that "She's still out daughter.", including once in front of Myung Wol. That was lovely. As was her visit with Myung Wol at the hospital.

Episode 18

+ The goodbye between the parents and Myung Wol was really lovely. I loved Ok Soon's line about how it had 'always bothered her that she'd never made Myung Wol a good meal'.

+ Why would Kang Woo and Ryu trust Chairman Joo one last time? That's just stupid. Of course he was going to betray them again! It's what he does. Why wouldn't they have just gone to the NSA? Ryu could have turned himself in for a deal - to defect and protect Myung Wol from prosecution in exchange for the Four Books and all the evidence of Chairman Joo's criminal activities (including murder). It would have worked and it would have had the added bonus of not making our heroes look naive and dumb. Plus it would have been a change from the usual rinse-repeat plot this show keeps treading.

+ I liked that Myung Wol freed herself and fought back. I don't even mind that she needed Ryu's help because there were a lot of guys and even good fighters need help. But this episode kept with the trend of Myung Wol being really passive and it's sad and annoying.

+ The car accident fake-out would have worked better if there hadn't been almost fifteen minutes left to the episode. I was a little worried about Ryu. There was a chance they would have killed him.

+ I really liked that Kang Woo kept in touch with, and seemingly became good friends with Ok Soon and Hee Bok.

+ Ok Soon and Hee Bok's ending was great. I loved that they're happily married and successful. Their texting each other was adorable.

+ I liked In Ah's ending as well. I liked her taking over her grandfather's businesses. I liked that she and Kang Woo had found a peace between them and a sort of friendship.

+ Myung Wol and Kang Woo's reunion was nice. It was a glimpse of old Myung Wol. And I was happy for Kang Woo. I also liked their wedding and happy ending.

+ That said it makes no sense to me that they would go through so much effort to fake their deaths, successfully at that, and then throw it away by revealing that she's alive only a year later. I figured that perhaps Myung Wol would be waiting in the airport in America and they would start a new life there. But for her to come out as alive we really did need some sort of explanation. Even just saying that they were working with the NSA and blah blah its totally safe now!

+ I wish we could have seen some of Myung Wol and Ryu's life during that year.

When I decided to finish this series I rewatched a couple select episodes (my favourites) and they were still hilarious. More importantly they were fun. This was a silly show that threw around every trope it could think of and that's what I enjoyed about it. Unfortunately it then took a turn for angsty relationship and spy drama and never really got it's humour back. The last half of this series was disappointing but I did enjoy the first half.
