Agent Carter 1x01 & 1x02 Thoughts
Jan. 8th, 2015 12:16 amI loved it! It was really enjoyable to watch. Just so so so good. ♥ Peggy ♥. She's tied for third in my list of favourite MCU characters (Pepper, Tony are top, Thor is tied with her) and I was super worried, as well as excited, about how this show would go. It ended up being better than I was expecting.
+ Peggy is amazing. I adore how competent she is. Unbelievably competent and badass and so smart and clever. She was awesome. I loved her using everyone's sexism against them. I loved her snarkiness ("Agent."♥) and unwillingness to let anyone put her down.
+ The scene where she figured out how to reveal the employee and then casually walked down the stairs, heading him off and then knocking him over was great.
+ I really liked how the show dealt with Peggy's grief over Steve.
+ LOL to Peggy bringing a bottle of scotch into the bathroom with her not to help defuse to bomb but for a drink after.
+ I loved the scene with Peggy kicking ass while the Captain America radio show played in the background.
+ I love the Peggy/Jarvis relationship already. Their banter is great. That final scene between them was wonderful. I LOVED Jarvis calling Peggy on the stupidity of trying to remove herself from any personal relationships in order to protect people and that she realised that he had a point and reached out to Angie.
+ Jarvis is great. I love how - butlery he is. He makes me think of Alfred and you can never go wrong with that. I loved all the glimpses of his home life. I'm also glad that he's married.
+ I'm so glad that Jarvis didn't turn out to secretly be a badass fighter. I was waiting for him to save Peggy and reveal that he's a former soldier or spy. I mean they could still go there but I don't think they are. It makes me really happy. Peggy is the muscle and the brain and Jarvis adds something other to the team-up. He's the support.
+ I love the look of the show. There was some really great cinematography. I loved the shot of her walking to work - her in blue and red walking against a sea of men in grey suits. It was very striking (while also having meaning).
+ The Peggy/Howard scene was lovely. I love him calling her 'Peg'. I love that she's the person that he trusts unequivocally and that while she is willing to consider momentarily that it's something he could do in the end she trusts and believes in him as well. It's also made me now subscribe to the theory that Howard is unrequitedly in love with Peggy. Him calling her 'pal' and the hug bye just screamed him trying too hard to me. Like he
+ "But let's face it. I invented it so it works." - Howard. Heh. Like father, like son. I find Tony far more charming, he just has a lot of charisma that I don't think Howard has but I liked him here.
+ Lyndsy Fonseca's accent is so weird to me. It's taking me a bit to get used to but whatever. I'm just happy a) to see her on a show I watch and b) that Peggy has a female friend. I love how determined Angie is to be Peggy's friend.
+ I'm also really pleased that Enver Gjokaj is on the show. He is such a great actor. I like Daniel and Daniel/Peggy already. They have a really nice friendship. I loved that he tried to stand up for her and that when she shot him down and asked him not to he understood and respected where she was coming from.
+ I'm guessing Daniel Sousa is going to figure out that Peggy is the blonde by seeing the scars on Peggy's shoulder and remembering them from the pictures.
+ I love all of Peggy's little spy gadgets.
+ "You're a credit to your profession." - Jarvis. See I'm cynical because he started to say this and I immediately winced and then he finished it with 'profession' instead of 'women' and I was so pleased.
