So I read an article about Avenger: Age of Ultron which had a bunch of info/spoilers and one in particular has me worried and another that has me actively upset.
First, upset - it seems that JARVIS is going to die/be permanently destroyed and Vision will be created from what's left of him. Nooo! I love JARVIS. He's the best. And an integral part of Tony for me, like Pepper. I can't imagine Iron Man without him. He's snarky and wonderful. This makes me so sad.
Second, someone is apparently going die, who's not JARVIS and also permanently, which I guess isn't that surprising but it does have me worried about who it's going to be. I think all the Avengers themselves are safe. Hulk is probably the most unsafe - no individual series of his own - but I doubt they'd kill him off.
It's the supporting characters who need to be worried: Rhodey, Sam, Maria, Fury, Wanda and Pietro, Vision. The latter three new characters I could see dying but I think are less likely simply because they are new. Fury had a death fake out in the last MCU film but whether that means a real death is more or less likely I'm not sure. I'm leaning less. I think it's far more likely that Rhodey, Sam or Maria are on the chopping block. None of the trailers show them in any of the fights. I like all of them so I'm worried.
Randomly I find myself really worried that they'll kill off Pepper Potts. She's not in the movie which I'm endlessly disappointed by - even just one scene would have been great! And now I'm anxious that TPTB will have Ultron kill her as part of him striking out at Tony. If they do that I'm going to be so unbelievably pissed. Sooooo angry. Probably I'm just getting myself worked up for no reason.
2x17 'Melinda'
I liked it.
+ All the Skye/Jiaying scenes were good. I really loved the reveal that Jiaying was her mother and both of their reactions. I liked Jiaying mentoring Skye.
+ The final dinner with Cal was rather sweet and I liked how it played out. I liked Jiaying giving him a avenue of discussion when things awkwardly stalled a bit. Despite the fact that he's a amoral murderer Cal's excitement and anxiety and happiness at having Skye and Jiaying joining him for dinner made me feel bad for him.
+ It was nice to see May so happy and open in the past. I loved getting to see her kicking ass and just how she got her Cavalry nickname.
+ I liked seeing a bit into how SHIELD worked pre-superheroes. Also May and Coulson as partners.
+ I loved the Fitz/Hunter/Coulson scene. Fitz's "Thing is would it still be okay if I came and hung out with you?" was adorable. It was just a very cute scene and I really liked Hunter. Again!
+ The May/Bobbi scene was nice.
+ "They were like family. Or they were." - Skye. Uh, excuse me. Sure, she got attacked by Shield agents and that has to be confusing but May called to warn her, Bobbi cried out a warning when the other guy was going to shoot her. Some of the team have had a harder time adjusting to the changes in her but they've for the most part been supportive and clear in their continued love for her. What happened to her worry for them and need to get back and find out what happened?
+ "Why go there at all?" - Mack. Why is it so confusing to 'real SHIELD' why Coulson has been going after alien tech and went to the alien temple? Especially Mack who was there the entire time? It's not that difficult - Hydra was going after dangerous alien tech, Coulson stopped them. Hydra wanted to get to the city, Coulson went to blow it up and stop them. Basically: stopping Hydra. This is not difficult or confusing. Just - wtf?
+ 'Theta Protocol', hmm. It's clearly nothing sinister but it'll be interesting to see exactly what it is. Probably Fury is involved. Possibly to do with something connected to or leading towards Avengers 2?
+ I'm sad that Coulson was apparently keeping so much from May. Not just the Theta Protocol but also the fact that he had Deathlok working for them and was actively upgrading him secretly. How many other secrets was he keeping? And why keep them from May who is 100% loyal?
+ May seemed to become suspicious of Coulson really quickly. Sure she's mostly still loyal and wanting to believing in him but even with the secrets it feels like it happened too fast. I'm choosing to believe that she's playing a role for 'real SHIELD'.
