Overall, this was an excellent series. I could have watched another season or two easily. Our protagonist/hero Osawa Eriko is awesome. I love her so much.

Episode 11

This episode made me so happy.

• So despite my complete belief at the end of the previous episode that Nodate was in on it/behind everything I found myself as this episode went on increasingly thinking that there was definitely something else going on. I quickly began thinking that Nodate was undercover and not a bad guy. But then another part of me thought I was being delusional and grasping at straws and that I was just going to end up sad when it turned out he was a bad guy. So this episode was full of tension, much like the last, with me going back and forth about whether Nodate was good or bad. When Eriko sent Mami after Nodate my first thought was ‘this has to be a set up’ especially when she sent Yada away too. But then we got that pretty heartbreaking exchange between Eriko and Nodate and she shot him and seemed heartbroken and I totally bought it. The fact that it turned out to be yet another one of her schemes makes me so happy.

• I like that while it ended with Eriko getting ready to leave the country again they gave us that moment with the phone call and the last shot of her face with the implication that her team’s wish for her to come through the door with a case could in fact come true. That’s how I’m choosing to think it happened. It doesn’t make much sense that she would leave Korea again. I mean – why would she?

• I love so much that in the end Eriko and Nodate truly are best friends who are loyal and trust each other completely. I love that the wave he gave her in the car was actually a sign from their old days meaning ‘might be in danger’. I loved that moment when Eriko patted Nodate’s shoulder all ‘are you alright’ and he lifts his butt and then she smacks it. Heh.

• I’m pretty impressed with Eriko’s acting because she fooled me. When she was pleading to herself “Nodate, come out” I bought it, when she walked away from Nodate’s body and broke down I bought it. She looked devastated. I’m so glad that’s all it was.

“I wasn’t a part of the investigation five years ago. But I am here this time around. And that changes everything. Amateurs should be silent.” – Eriko. She is so awesome.

“You’re such a strong woman. ... Even though you’re a foe, you’re an admirable one.” – Nogaki. I love that the show brought back their very first capture for the final episode. I loved the games he and Eriko played and that she won in the end.

• Once again Mami ended up paired with Eriko. At this point it really does come off as Eriko choosing her as her partner. I really wish though that we’d gotten a scene with just the two of them one last time. I also wanted a Nodate/Eriko scene. I am glad that we got that last scene between Mami/Reiko.

“I certainly was shot. That was a lot of fun! A play with shooting in it. (laughs)” – Superintendent. I kind of love the Superintendent. He turned out to be a big fluffy goofball – him sticking his tongue out at Eriko to show he wasn’t dead, and then skipping up to them when they confront Yada with this big grin on his face made, and then acting like he’s in pain so he can say ‘gotcha!’.

• So are we supposed to think that Eriko and Hiroshi broke up during that last phone call? Or was he just acknowledging that he didn’t have to wait but would anyway?

• I’m pretty pleased that Yada ended up being the bad guy. I was really hoping after episode eight that he would be taken down.

“You and I both (are trying to make this country better). We’ll meet again. Count on it.... Sooner than you think.” - Takakura. Hmm. I wonder if they were setting things up for a second season or a movie? I have to admit I’m intrigued. Also at their show-down in the warehouse I noticed that they were dressed the same (black pants, white top, black underneath) which I found interesting.

“She’s a man among men” I know that this is supposed to be a compliment but saying ‘she’s so awesome that she just like a man/better than men’ is no better than saying ‘she’s a credit to her gender’. Ugh.
