Agents of Shield 2x18 Thoughts

I liked it.
• I thought May's solution to the Tool Box problem was elegantly done and I don't really get what Jemma's problem was. Fitz was outside with Coulson, safe, while Jemma was still stuck in 'real' SHIELD. What did she expect May to do? Of course she'd protect her! I guess I can see why Jemma would be mad about May making Fitz more of a target but she should have understood why she did it. May did't have very many options.
• "Honestly I don't care what's in it. The only thing I know is that Coulson was just trying to protect Skye." - Jemma. ♥
• Ward and Ward/Kara were interesting. I didn't see their relationship going this direction at all. Ward seems sincere in caring for her. He was honestly concerned for her and walked into a trap to protect her. He bought a plant for her! On one hand, I'm pleased about that. For Kara's sake it's great that he was genuine in his desire to help her and that he's so supportive. It's good for Ward as a person too. He was pretty sweet with her.
On the other hand, I actually ship it less now then I did in their last episode. I was ready to ship them as a badass bad guy/anti-hero couple but how they were here - meh. Kara seems really fragile. I mean she was in her last episode too but I thought that after how things played out she would be - stronger. More together. Here she still seems scared and uncertain. I kind of just want to wrap her in a blanket somewhere safe with a puppy, or something.
One thing I do find really interesting is that despite the tension between these two and SHIELD, during the battle itself Ward and Kara had their respective SHIELD agent's back.
• I loved Skye empathising with Cal. I like that she understand why he did what he did. She really didn't want to but the more time she spent with him, listening to him, she couldn't help but understand him more. I liked her speaking up for him to Jiaying. Their scenes were great.
• I also really loved her concern about what he would do and her sense of responsibilty about it as a moral person. Oh, and that little moment of realisation that her name is 'Daisy Johnson'. It really was a small moment but for Skye such a huge revelation.
• "He's a SHIELD agent. With rockets in his arms." - Coulson. Heh.
• They had better not kill Mike. I like Lincoln too but if they kill off Mike I'm going to be so pissed.
• Lincoln's electrical abilities not working as well on Deathlok seems weird and backwards. Shouldn't they be more effective against him?
• "I had her. Damn it, I had her." I love dad Coulson. That moment of interrupted reunion between Skye and Coulson was great.
• I loved the Bobbi/Mack sparring scene. I love that he doesn't hold back with her and that she still kicks his ass.
• It's nice to see Mack showing some hesitation about what 'real' SHIELD is doing but I really want more than just one line. With Bobbi we see it in almost everything she does. I love how clearly torn she is. I loved Bobbi pointing out that Hydra is their enemy not Coulson.
• All the Fitz/Coulson/Lance stuff was good. Coulson and Lance's simultaneous 'ooo' face after the SHIELD agent hit the cloaked Quinjet amused me. Fitz being distracted by Mike getting a hardware upgrade was great. I liked that little moment between Lance and Fitz on the plane with Lance noticing Fitz's hand on the gun and him putting a restraining/comforting hand on it. And that Coulson and Lance were prepared when Fitz lunged at Ward.
• If Hydra can track Gordon's teleporting shouldn't they have found Afterlife already?
I liked it.
