4x11 'Epitaph'
• "Despite our history, despite everything I told myself... I cared about him." This was a really great scene. I loved how emotional, shaken and upset Emily honestly was. Her flashbacks at the funeral were really sad.
• Considering how long they had to come up with a cover story I suppose that was a workable one but ouch. Couldn't they have just gotten rid of Kate's body and gone with an intruder story? There are so many flaws in this cover up that it's sure to come up again. I hope it does and Daniel's name is cleared in the end. I think he would have been fine having his name ruined to protect his loved ones but he was a hero in the end, and a good guy, and I find it too sad to think that he could be remembered this way.
• "I can't imagine how painful this is." Uh, he doesn't have to imagine anything. He just has to think back a month ago when he thought his daughter was dead (murdered). Voila.
• "I can't imagine what you're going through." YES YOU CAN! omg, what is with the Clarke's? I realise it's an empty sort of thing people say but seriously. Emily lost Aiden less than a year ago, it's common knowledge I believe. She can imagine. She can even understand knowing that there is something else going on when someone you love is hurt and that people are lying and conspiring and feeling the helpless pain and rage that causes.
• So what the hell does Charlotte think about all this? Is she being kept from all outside knowledge because you'd think hearing that her sister shot and killed her brother when he attacked her would make her want to know what actually happened. Her absence is bizarre.
4x12 'Madness'
• Nolan/Emily were delightful. I loved how happy he was when she told him that she and David were leaving the Hamptons; his sheer joy that she was going to get her happy ending. I loved Emily's "If you need me I'm there." and her protectiveness of him. I remember wanting to see her being a friend to Nolan more and this episode really delivered that. Their shared smiles at Nolan's "This could be your farewell take down." made me happy. I love them conspiring together.
"Gentlemen prefer blondes. You know that." - Nolan ♥
Also: "Frankly my dear I'm so glad you give a damn." LOL. I was also amused by him defending Louise to Emily.
• "He wasn't nothing to me." I'm glad that Emily can acknowledge now that Daniel meant something to her.
• I felt sorry for Victoria. Especially in her first scene with Margaux. I can understand why she told Margaux the truth - Margaux's child is Victoria's last piece of Daniel - but you'd think at this point she would know better than to speak of secrets in public. She didn't even close the door!
• I'd forgotten about the picture. Malcolm would still have turned his attention to the Hampton's because David was there but it was Victoria who set them on Emily and set into motion the events that lead to Daniel's death (though of course the chain of blame goes all the way back to Victoria and Conrad framing David). But of course being Victoria she refuses to accept her own role in Daniel's death and continues to completely blame Emily. I was so with Emily in her anger at the end.
