Abduction

• Nolan/Louise continue to be pretty adorable. I loved them working together in the kitchen. It felt very settled and homey. Them eloping to get Louise out from under her family's control worked for me.

• Jack and Emily had very little interaction but I actually really enjoyed them? It's weird. But I liked Jack defending Emily to Ben, asserting that she's on the right side, and him saying he kept her secret because "revealing it would hurt her". I liked Jack's belief in Emily and him assuring David that she could take care of herself. I liked Emily trusting Jack enough to send a goon after him with a treasure map hint on him.

• I was very impressed with Victoria. She dealt with learning that David had been planning to kill her all along surprisingly well and her goodbye to him was actually really mature! I actually believe she meant it when she told David "You and Emily deserve a life together." Her refusing to help Margaux get revenge on Emily only reinforces that. Huh. Has she really learned from her mistakes in the past and changed her spots?

- I also loved her saving Emily's life by drawing Malcolm's attention to her - and in such an aggressive/dangerous way - as well as kicking the knife to Emily when Malcolm went for it.

• Victoria's explanation to Margaux for why she's not going for revenge herself was very... well, it painted her in the best light and left a lot out. She played up saving Daniel for her part in setting up David, she "hurt" David... nothing about what she did to Emily herself. It's part of what has me going 'uh huh' to the idea that she's changed.

• I'm rather meh on Margaux's quest for revenge against Emily. "Emily was behind all of it." Kind of but kind of not? I realise she's angry and grieving but aiming it all at Emily feels pretty misplaced. It's also certainly not what Daniel would have wanted.

• Emily being distracted by David to such an extent as she was when Malcolm wasn't even permanently down made no sense. It felt contrived in order to let David kill Malcolm and save Emily and that just really irritated me.

• It made no sense for David not to include Nolan. By his own account Malcolm kills everyone even tangentially associated to his target and Nolan would surely number among them.

• Charlotte's absence continues to really be felt. I can't understand why the show got rid of her this season when now more than ever her presence makes sense and her absence actually detracts from the show. When Victoria told Margaux that all that was important to her now was Margaux and her child I was all "uhhhh, your daughter???" Same any time David talks about 'his daughter'. He has two! It annoys me a lot.

• It was interesting that when David went to Emily's house for her he called for 'Emily' instead of Amanda. Even when he became terrified for her safety he called for 'Emily'. That felt off. He thinks of her as Amanda after all.
