Retaliation

I really enjoyed it.

• I am so so thankful that Louise didn't go over the cliff. I was honestly afraid that the show was going to go there and I would have been so mad. I'm so attached to Louise at this point and I think she's such a great addition to the cast and Team Revenge that I would be upset if anything happened to her. I loved her telling her brother "my people are just fine". I loved her protectiveness of all of them. I just hope she tells Nolan the truth soon enough so that they can cover up Lymon's death.

• I continue to really enjoy Nolan/Louise. They're pretty adorable together and, imo, so good for each other. I loved Louise calling Nolan on his disapproval of Ben and telling him "Trust your friends." I loved her finagling Jack into accepting Nolan's offer of a job. Her glee over Carl was really cute and I loved this exchange with Nolan: "We will keep an eye on Louise and make sure she doesn't eat him." / "Mmm." / "Maybe." ♥ I also really enjoyed watching their first fight and trying to define their relationship. I'm very interested in seeing where their relationship goes (and hopeful it's somewhere happy for both of them.)

"I get it i have a sister-from-another-mister in Ems... (laughs) And she's done all sorts of crazy. But I still love her." - Nolan. ♥ I mean I ship them and don't see them as siblingly but whatever, it's not happening so I'm just going to bask in how much they love each other. I also liked their roles switching from the previous episode with Nolan being the one protective and distrustful of Emily's new love interest.

"Betrayal. You've always got to give yourself an extra fifteen minutes." - Nolan. Hee.

• Victoria saving the day, or at least David's day, was great. I loved her gotcha smack down when she caught Natalie. The wink to David was kind of cute. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop with her but at the same time I'm starting to believe that she might have actually turned over a new leaf. Huh. I mean her saving David was very much a part of her also getting her Grayson inheritance back and getting rid of a thorn in her side but it's definitely a step in repairing her relationship with David.

• All the Jack/Nolan friendship scenes were lovely. It was nice to see. I also enjoyed Jack and David's friendship.

"The world out there likes nothing more than to destroy devils who pretend to be righteous angels. When they hear the whole story... she will be crucified." - Margaux. I am really doubtful and, like, 95% sure it will not play out that way. She has let hatred blind herself to just how sympathetic Emily's story is and how terrible the people Emily targeted mostly were. She is fooling herself if she thinks that once everything comes out Emily will be crucified. If it does play out that way I'll be really disappointed in the show. Conrad is reviled, her father was set up and her life ruined, and all the people she took down played their part in that. People love vigilante justice if done in a certain way. I think this is a case where people will love it - both the spectacle but also the story of a little girl growing up to get revenge on the villains who ruined her life. So while legally she'd be in trouble, in the court of public opinion I think she'd come out on top.

• Margaux crossed a serious line this episode when she sent a guy after an innocent woman, completely unconnected to anything, even knowing she would likely end up dead. I think she even jumped across a line Emily never has, isn't she a little revenge prodigy? She has certainly left behind any chance of sympathy though I never really had much for her revenge quest anyway. I kind of admire her ruthlessness and her "I don't make empty threats." line was a good one buuuuut she's in the wrong here. That's pretty much what it comes down to. I get her anger but not the rage. I don't get how she can hear Emily's story and came to the understanding that Emily is the villain. I mean Margaux lost a lot but Emily didn't kill her father nor Daniel, and she is hardly a devil. I'm going to be irritated if she does manage to win this fight. Actually what I want is her forcing the truth out and in the end Emily being vindicated/supported.

• I also don't get why Margaux isn't worried about Emily destroying her business. Doesn't Emily have info that could do that? What's there to stop her if Margaux did succeed in her goal?

"catch up with my very protective daughter"... uh, you mean "daughters", yes? I am so annoyed by this! He has two daughters!

• I'm disappointed in how Natalie's storyline ended. Her being another Conrad mistress and wanting revenge on David - meh. I also really wanted more Natalie vs Victoria, and for her to be a bigger opponent. It seems like a waste to get rid of her so quickly. Also - why did Victoria decide to use the recording as blackmail instead of turning it over to the police and have Natalie arrested like she deserved?

• I don't buy for a second that Lymon would be able to get into Nolan's secret laptop. Nolan's! On which he keeps all their Revenge stuff apparently? So very unlikely. That thing would be encrypted and pass-coded to the nth degree. Not buying it.
