4x17 'Loss':
• Margaux losing the baby is not a twist that I like and was so unnecessary. I felt terrible for Margaux (and for Victoria and Emily) but Margaux makes it difficult to connect to her past that one thing. I mean even with Emily wanting a truce and offering to work with her in order to clear Daniel's name in a way that wouldn't harm anyone else Margaux was insistent that her way was the only way. She was very dismissive of Emily and her attempts at peace. Then to cap off all of her recent horribleness she lies to Victoria and claims Emily pushed her? WTF, Margaux? It was the cab drivers fault. I'm so done with her.
• The rest of the episode was fine. I really liked David/Emily. Victoria/Margaux were nice too and I loved Victoria calling herself Margaux's mother. I'm hoping that Louise got the USB back from Lymon's dead hand because I don't want to see this come back on her. Also Nolan and Louise need to define their relationship if he's going to be seeing other people because I don't want that to cause damage between them.
4x18 'Clarity'
• I appreciate that Emily came out as Amanda on her own terms which is exactly how I wanted it to happen. I also did want the truth to come out before the end of the series. That said she should have given Nolan a heads up. He's her BFF and partner-in-crime and he deserved to be told beforehand. More importantly she's living on a house of dominoes and if, when, they fall over it's going to affect everyone around her, especially Nolan.
• I hate how the Nolan/Louise situation played out. I'm so mad about it. They were the happy and fun pair! The wonder twins! There was honest affection there! There was zero need to destroy it. Nolan avoiding Louise and lying to her for no reason, multiple times, was so aggravating. I was also annoyed by him being so freaked out by Louise's role in her brother's death (which I think she overstated a bit.) If this leads to Louise turning on Nolan and trying for revenge (and she still has the flash drive, no?) I'm going to be pissed. Nolan has done so much for her that it more than outweighs the lies.
• It's nice to see Margaux stepping back from murder and stopping the assassin, and it was nice to hear her state right out that she's stepping back from revenge - but it would be more believable if she had told Victoria the truth instead of letting Victoria continue to believe Emily pushed her. She knows what Victoria is like, she knows that Victoria will be pursuing revenge in her place so it puts in doubt her decision to stop trying for revenge. Whether she lets Victoria continue to pursue revenge against Emily, especially after Emily cleared Daniel's name, or comes clean will show what she's really like.
• "Emily Thorne was not built for good." - Nolan. True enough. It will be interesting to see who 'Amanda' is. Is this what it will take for Emily to give up revenge for good?
• I liked Stevie in the last episode and I get her wanting to protect Jack and Carl but she was completely out of line with David. Blaming him for starting everything because of his affair with Victoria, seriously?
4x19 'Exposure'
• I loved Emily and David dealing with Kingsley. Emily was amazing as always and then David walked in and it turned awesome. I love the two of them working together.
• I loved Jack/Nolan. Jack being there for Nolan was so great. I loved: "Amanda couldn't let you go if she wanted to." Their scene were just really lovely. Even if this was a permanent split with Emily (ha, they'll be back to rights in the next episode I don't doubt, or they'd better be!) Nolan would never be alone again.
• "We should go watch this thing now cause you know how she gets when you save things for later." - Jack. LOL!
• "Whatever needs to be done I'll do myself." - Emily. Ouch. Poor Nolan. Emily's fury is completely justified. At the same time I just wanted someone to wrap Nolan up in a hug. He was so lonely and alone for so long, and all he wanted was to belong, to have someone love him back. So I felt for him when he was explaining why he kept some files. But it was still a massively dumb thing to do (though allowing them to be so easy to get to even more so.)
• "No one's ever going to be as close to you as Emily." - Louise I rather loved this too. I don't think it's necessarily true but they'll always have a special bond.
• While opening up so much may be the opposite of what Emily Thorne would do, 'Amanda's' smackdown of Victoria was exactly what she would have done as Emily. As much as Emily might want to leave that persona behind her it's who she is. Emily will always be a part of her. If she wasn't Emily wouldn't have struck out at Victoria during the interview. Though it was pretty satisfying to watch.
• The flashbacks of Amanda made me remember how much I loved her. I actually really liked all the flashbacks.
• Meanwhile I'm actively aggravated by the three women currently working to bring Emily down.
+ Victoria is suddenly back to how she was at the end of last season as if the entirety of this season had never happened. I honestly was believing that she's moved on from wanting revenge on Emily so that makes it even more annoying. The fact that she was still just as determined after Margaux told her the truth - arg.
I think the most irritating aspect of it though is Victoria's continuing inability to take responsibility for her own actions. I so hope it gets proven that she murdered Aiden. I need that to come out. I can't believe she told Margaux "Emily targeted the innocent". I mean Daniel counts though I don't think Emily's goal was to harm him, at least until he joined his father and moved himself out of the innocent category. And certainly there was a lot of collateral, some of it innocent, that got caught up in Emily's revenge. But she never targeted someone innocent. Unlike Victoria who did something unspeakably horrible to an 8 year old and has been basically a viper to anyone who got in their way - innocent or not.
+ Louise is such an easily lead idiot. I hate what this show has done with her. Nolan believed in her, uncovered the fact that she was being drugged, married her to help her get control of her life, revealed the truth about her father's death and got her out of her mother's control, she knew some about Nolan and Emily's revenge business and even helped out once... and he lied to her a couple times, didn't fill her in on all his past and she's ready to believe anything Victoria tells her and is out to take Nolan down? Ugh. She saw through Victoria before why isn't she now? Also considering what happened with her brother I don't think she has much room to be self-righteous.
+ I was actually pleased with Margaux - her telling Victoria the truth and refusing to help take down Emily was exactly what I wanted to see. She got what she wanted, time to move on. Also her hair looked fabulous. So her joining up with Victoria at the end because Emily was "cruel" made me go 'oh for gods sakes". I get her loyalty to Victoria but seriously? Did she not listen to everything Victoria did to Emily?
• I'm guessing the hand at the end was Lydia based on how she got her own section of flashbacks. Also I didn't watch season 3 so I didn't know that she was on the run after Emily accused her of shooting her. Emily admitted to Ben, at the station during an interview, that it was Daniel who shot her so I image that it's going to come up again.
