A House Divided

• I loved Reese's complete focus on saving Finch. For Reese Finch is the most important thing and nothing else really mattered. Even while he was helping Root you could feel his tension and impatience. I loved this: "I'm getting tired of the Machine's runaround when Finch is still out there."

"That's the most important man in the world, senator. The father of a new age." - Greer I really loved all of Greer's talk about how important Finch, and what he has done, is. Finch has spent basically his entire adult life in the shadows, not many people knowing what he has done. It felt good to have someone outside of Team Machine, even an enemy, acknowledged it. I found it interesting how Greer, like Root, talked about the Machine as both a god Finch created and as Finch's child (or rather him as her father). Finch meanwhile is still stubbornly clinging to his denial, sigh.

• The Shaw/Reese/Hersh bickering was very fun. I wouldn't mind watching a couple more episodes of the three of them forced to work together. I loved Hersh's expression when Shaw called him George, heh. I loved Reese's "I think we're getting off topic." and the fact that even with everything happening they completely were. I loved their bickering over who got to drive.

• Collier's back story is sad and I completely understand his anger and disillusionment and I sympathise with the helplessness and rage he felt. I can definitely see how he came to create Vigilance. That doesn't however excuse all the collateral damage his actions have caused nor his lack of caring about it and at the end of the day he has become exactly what they accused his brother of being.

• I love how complex this show's treatment of the various sides are. Everyone is coming at this situation from different angles and yet all of them are doing what they think is best and none of them are entirely wrong (necessarily). Lots of wrong methods based on the right ideals. Even with our heroes.

"My friend is never wrong which is annoying as that sounds." - Shaw. No significant Root/Shaw moments but there were a couple little things I enjoyed. This quote, Root's grin as she tells Shaw to 'use her words', them getting all up close and personal just before Root sends Shaw to the hotel.

• While at the hotel Shaw takes out three secret service agents by shooting them each twice in the legs. Somehow this completely incapacitates them. We see the second one rolling around, groaning in pain, and yet he doesn't try to scream a warning. If you can groan, dude, you can scream. None of try and shoot her while her back was turned and she didn't seem at all worried about the possibility. Does shooting someone in legs take out their arms as well? Does it immediately knock them into unconsciousness? It annoyed me.

"Can I kill her now?" - Shaw. LOL. I also loved her attempted explanation to Control for why she was saving her which basically came down to "i don't know, ugh, stop talking to me".
