5x08 'Ouroboros'

• I'm torn about the Sheriff's decisions this episode. He wasn't wrong in his speech to Melissa but at the same time - supernatural creatures and monsters. All sorts of things that no one knows anything about. As Melissa's report showed this really isn't something you can handle the normal way.

Bringing in all his deputies to guard the body was foolish. All he knows about what took the other bodies was that it's strong enough to flip a vehicle and his deputies don't even know that. After losing so many in season 2 you'd think he'd be more cautious of throwing them in front of an unknown supernatural creature. In fact why hasn't he called a staff meeting and given all of them a quick overview of the truth?

• I'm continuing to enjoy Theo. He's a surprisingly good and creepy villain and he played the situation in this episode perfectly.

• Poor Malia. She just has no luck with parents. But why would she need Deaton to learn if Malia's alive? I'm sure that Malia's reappearance made the papers and she's not really hiding.

5x09 'Lies of Omission'

• Theo, you evil little shit. His explanation to the Sheriff about wants happened that night and him claiming Stiles truth/story as his own was brilliantly done. His refrain about not only protecting himself but also protecting Stiles, bringing up how Donovan wanted revenge on the sheriff, the tears - so well played. He has the sheriff's sympathy now. Plus when it comes out to everyone he can tell Stiles and Scott that he was protecting Stiles and it's believable enough. It ties him to the pack even tighter. Plus it will drive Stiles crazy which I'm sure is a plus.

Unfortunately I feel like his explanation to Scott about Stiles 'murdering' Donovan wasn't well thought out and kind of ends up ruining it. Yeah, there's distance between Scott and Stiles but does he really think Scott would believe him over Stiles's version? All it would take to ruin everything he's been building is Scott and Stiles talking it out and then he'd be revealed as a lying liar.

• Of course then we get the Scott/Stiles confrontation... and Scott doesn't even ask what exactly happened or for Stiles side of the story, what? He just accepted Theo's explanation. Why are they not talking? There is so much talking past each other and miscommunication that it was really frustrating to watch. I mean it was a really well done scene and I was hurting for Stiles when he was begging Scott to say he believed him and when Scott basically told Stiles to turn himself in to his dad for murder to make it right but -- soooo frustrating. And it makes me angry at Scott. Like, dude, seriously?!

The most irritating part, beside all the completely unnecessary lying and secret keeping this season, is that if they'd built more on the past this could have worked. 3B and the nogitsune should be looming large over the last few episodes; especially in Stiles reaction to Donovan's death and the Scott/Stiles relationship.

The miscommunication and distrust between them could make sense. Stiles pulling away after Donovan's death [ptsd from the nogitsune popping up, dealing with his initial relief and lack of guilt, his guilt and fear afterward, his worry about what this means about him]; Scott remembering the last time Stiles was acting off and finding himself suspicious even though he doesn't want to be. At the same time you have Kira beginning to act off as well, enough so that Scott finds himself distrusting her and then it turns out that there is actually something seriously wrong with her. It even seems like she probably killed one of the chimeras. Then Scott learns that Stiles killed one too, and kept it a secret from him, and Stiles confirms it... I can see it! All the pieces to make this work are right there. And yet I didn't see it onscreen. Instead I ended the episode really aggravated with Scott.

• Stiles mentions that Donovan was going to kill his dad but doesn't mention the slightly more important detail that Donovan was trying to kill Stiles right then.

• The Natalie/Malia scene was interesting. I loved Malia flashing her eyes and confronting Natalie about her denial. I feel like someone really needs to sit Natalie down and explain everything to her.

5x10 'Status Asthmaticus'

This was the worst episode of the season.

• The Stiles/Malia scene was nice.

• Scott refusing to turn Hayden was ridiculous. When he left to get her sister it was a clear sign that there was no saving her. Even if he's sure that turning her wouldn't work there's still a chance it could and she's already 100% going to die. Why the hell not?

• Even with the wolfsbane [which how does that even work?? I feel like this is something Scott would have noticed] and the not wanting to harm Liam I feel like Scott did ridiculously bad in that fight. Was he even trying at all?

• What do these people have against phones? Why don't they just call Hayden's sister or call the station? Why doesn't Scott use Lydia's cell for call for help? Why didn't Braeden just call Malia?

• What is going on with Theo and his plan? He came to Beacon Hills for Scott's pack - and then basically spent the episode sabotaging any chance of that happening? Why the hell did he take the Sheriff? If he needed to distract Stiles there was no need to inform Stiles that he was the one behind it. I don't understand what he's doing.
