Hannibal 3x02 Thoughts

I loved it.
• I loved the Will/Abigail scene at the Norman Chapel. Everything about it was wonderful. I loved their conversation. I adored the way Will said "Always" - so intense, so fierce. As a look into Will's headspace right now it was great. So is Abigail a ghost of the guilt and regret that he carries with him over her death, or the (not very) subconscious part of him that misses Hannibal and regrets not going with him, or a representation of both?
• So... "I forgive you.", hmm. I don't think he was lying but I also don't know that I believe that Will has actually forgiven Hannibal. It felt more like "I understand why you did what you did". Will understands what Hannibal is, understands that Hannibal reacted in the only way he could according to his nature and Will has made peace with that. But I don't know if he really has forgiven Hannibal, or if he even knows for himself if he has.
• I adore the symbolism of Hannibal's gift to Will, his heart, unfolding and ushering in the resurrection of the ravenstag, last seen dying after Hannibal gutted Will. I'm not entirely sure what the raven stag is meant to represent but I think it's the symbol of Will and Hannibal's relationship, so yay. The creepiness of it just makes it all the more perfect cause that's kind of where they're at at this moment.
ETA: ALSO! The flesh heart was apparently the Three of Swords in tarot. I saw a sword fall when it was turning into the raven stag but missed that there were three of them (acting as the legs of the 'heart'.) Meaning, upright: painful separation, sorrow, heartbreak, grief, rejection. Meaning, reversed: releasing pain, optimism, forgiveness. Either way - beautiful.
• I love that Hannibal stayed to see how Will reacted to his gift. I loved the shot of him listening to Will in the chapel. Actually him in the catacombs was great as well. I particularly loved the camera panning to follow Pazzi as he leaves and showing Hannibal listening in the shadows. I love that Will knew that he was there.
• I'm choosing to believe that what Abigail said about Hannibal being surgically precise in the injury he gave Will is true.
• The human-heart stag was so fucking creepy. Nightmare fuel there.
• Poor Will. a) Living with Abigail's ghost for 8 months. A part of him had to have known all along that she was dead but he just couldn't deal with it. B) He is sooo confused about his emotions and feelings about Hannibal and just what it is he wants to do. He's so lost. C) I think right now he feels very dead inside and we really see that in the cinematography [like, that shot of Will lying on the floor of the Chapel in the same position as Abigail's body] and at the end we even have Pazzi say that Will's dead followed by Will stepping into the shadows. The old Will is gone, who will the new Will be?
