Hannibal 3x04 Thoughts

I loved it. It was a great character episode.
• Hannibal appeared only in flashback and yet this still managed to be an amazing Hannigram episode. Okay, just how canon are they going to go with Will/Hannibal? Because this episode was just... wow. They're seriously almost hitting Xena/Gabrielle levels of "subtext" here. I love it. Hannibal is so bad for Will, they are so dysfunctional and this is probably not going to end well for anyone but I am eating it up with a spoon.
There were three exchanges in particular I loved:
1) Jack speaks to Will at Wolf Trap.
I loved this entire scene. I love the fact that Will called Hannibal that night with no thought, no idea about what he was going to say, and that he "decided when I heard his voice."
Will: I told him to leave 'cause I wanted him to run.
Jack: Why?
Will: 'Cause... because he was my friend. (long pause)And because I wanted to run away with him.
Wow. My first thought - so Will's using 'friend' the same way Bilbo called Thorin friend, then? I love how honest and open he was.
2) Alana and Will talk in Hannibal's kitchen.
Alana: Friendship with Hannibal is blackmail elevated to the level of love.
Will: A mutually unspoken pact to ignore the worst in one other in order to continue enjoy the best.
Alana: After everything he's done can you still ignore the worst in him?
Both lines are beautiful. I feel like Alana's question, which Will very obviously avoids answering, is going to be the important question this season. That it will run through the entire season - can Will continue to ignore Hannibal's worst in order to continue to be his friend? When Alana asked I don't think he knew and that's what he's going to have to figure out.
3) Chilton and Jack talk Will/Hannibal.
Chilton: Will Graham is alive because Hannibal Lecter likes him that way.
Jack: Maybe it's one of those friendships that ends after the disembowelling.
Chilton: I would argue with these two that that's tantamount to flirtation.
I just love how much Chilton is sure that Hannibal/Will is basically a romance.
• Will sitting in Hannibal's dark kitchen, adding it to his memory palace, and visiting with Abigail's ghost was so sad.
• I like how the episode was divided into four parts, one for each person affected by Hannibal, and each beginning with the moment of almost death.
• "We could all use a little group therapy." - Chilton. LOL, a bit of an understatement.
• I love how utterly unmoved Alana was by Mason's needling. She just had no fucks left to give. I also love how Alana looked especially in the scene when she said she appreciated old testament revenge - the bright red coat and lipstick, her dark hair emphasising her pale skin and most of all how her eyes looked completely black.
• So amused that Chilton trademarked 'Hannibal the Cannibal'. I bet Freddie was spitting mad when she learned about it.
• Did Will seriously sail himself across the Atlantic ocean to find Hannibal? I don't even know what to do with that.
• It's interesting that when Will was thinking of another possibility of how that night could have gone he envisioned killing Jack with Hannibal instead of say, getting there before Jack and leaving with Hannibal.
• I love that both Alana and Will were there for Jack, or tried to be, after Bella's death. What happened that night shattered everything but some threads of friendship are still there.
• Oh, of course, Hannibal would send a condolence bouquet with note to Bella's funeral. Because he is the worst and he just has to go that extra step.
