Hannibal 3x08 Thoughts

It was fine though after the amazingness of the last episode anything would be a bit of a letdown.
• I love that Hannibal sent Will a letter. Was it the first? Did Will read the others or just burn them? I also love how manipulative and just classic Hannibal it was - he tells him 'as a friend' not to get involved but also sends him the article on the massacres. Just in case Jack doesn't approach Will.
• I like to think Hannibal was purposefully facing away when Will arrived because he needed those extra couple seconds to collect himself before seeing Will again.
• "Mr Lecter"? Oh, Will. That attempt at distancing yourself from Hannibal really isn't going to work.
• I liked how Will was so scared and distressed by forcing himself to empath the crime scene. It makes sense and was portrayed really well. Poor Will. He really should have said no. He had a good life and this is only going to end in disaster and I think he knows it.
• I loved Will's pack of (new) dogs. Also Will's worry for the victims' dog and Jack's exasperation with him was great. The exchange between Will and Molly over the dogs was cute.
• Did they seriously let Hannibal cook? Does he have kitchen privileges? Because that doesn't seem like the best idea ever. Him sharing wine and truffles with Alana appeared to be him imagining it but it honestly seemed like he and Chilton were eating that blood & chocolate pudding. Did he cater it?
Actually now that I think about it - there is no way Chilton would be in Hannibal's cell with him right? It's like asking Hannibal to murder him. So they probably talked, they may have even eaten together but it wasn't how we saw it.
• Is that even what Hannibal's cell look like? I figured, after seeing the pics, that it we were seeing it through Hannibal's eyes, that it was a part of Hannibal's 'mind palace' but now I'm thinking that is his actual cell. Hmm. Considering Alana is in charge now I can actually buy that she'd allow him a cell like that (if only because of the Mason situation and potential blackmail therein) so that part doesn't bug me.
• I love that Alana now has Chilton's old job. She's also looking great. I really enjoyed the Alana/Hannibal sparring. Does she do that often? Because I don't know if that's a great idea for her. I wonder if he asks her about Will? Then there's this:
"A promise you intent to keep." - Alana
"I always keep my promises." - Hannibal
No! Bad Hannibal. I really hope this isn't the show lying the building blocks for Hannibal's eventual murder of Alana. But between this and the mention in the previous episode I'm worried. I will be so angry if he kills her. They used a cattle prod to get sperm together! That has to bring people closer together, right? Also she lied so he wouldn't get the death penalty, has given him a great cell and lets him have pencils! Promises are made to be broken Hannibal!
• Richard Armitage's Francis Dolarhyde is both really hot and creepy at the same time.
• Chilton's reaction when Hannibal brought up using human blood in the last pudding he made for Chilton made me lol.
• I love that Hannibal wrote a scathing rebuttal to Chilton's book because of course he did.
