Sleepy Hollow 3x01 - 3x03 Thoughts

iariaI'm liking this season overall and I think it's off to a better start then the previous one. It’s improved enough that I’ll keep watching.
+ Abby and Ichabod remain as great as ever. Their relationship is the heart of this show and that always shines through. I love them as roommates. Their final scene in 3x03 was particularly lovely – Abby watching over the injured and sleeping Ichabod, the adorable fistbump, Ichabod sleepily telling her how grateful he is to have her in his life.
+ Gumpy Ichabod vs the modern world remains hilarious [you’re not a pirate!, lol] though a couple of his monologues were meh. Abby’s reactions to Ichabod during these moments are also really amusing [“Here comes Jefferson”, heh.]
+ I was hoping that the Jenny/Ichabod’s talk about how they were both at loose ends and were uncertain what to do with their future would lead to them working together – idk, as PIs or something. I love Abby and Ichabod’s partnership but I was really hoping that they’d become more of a trio with Jenny this season. Instead disappointingly she’s off doing her own thing with only the occasional checking in with the Witnesses. I really want her more integrated with Abby and Ichabod.
+ Joe Corban could be an interesting addition to the cast and I think he works because he ties back into the sisters’ past. I like the idea of Jenny teaching him the ropes. I also like the idea of dad Corbin having another (female) protégé and Jenny dealing with that (and her). But I find Abby’s complete separation from that side of the plot weird considering that dad Corbin was really important to her as well.
+ I’m not a fan of Ichabod’s new haircut but Abby’s looks great and I am very amused that they got matching haircuts.
+ Betty Ross unfortunately doesn’t work for me, in basically any way. The actress feels miscast and weirdly anachronistic. I found the flashbacks really boring. I spent most of them wondering how exactly Betty fits in Ichabod’s timeline and just where Katrina is during them. I hope the show realises that she doesn’t work and drops her.
+ Abby as an FBI Agent is nice but Ichabod still working with her, including going to crime scenes with her, makes no sense at all and I wish the show would address this in some way.
