3x02 'Marvin Gerard'

+ That final Red/Liz scene was amazing.

- "But I hope you can find some solace in the fact that when I look at you... (smiles)" I love the way he looks at her so much.

- "That’s Polaris, the North Star. That’s how sailors used to find their way home. When I look at you, that’s what I see. I see my way home." I love that he doesn't look at her while saying this and even afterward when she turns to stare at him he keeps his eyes on the stars.

- I loved Red marvelling over the fact that he'd never told anyone about his childhood dream of being a ship captain.

+ A small moment but when Red grabbed his shotgun and went to shoot at the police cars Liz followed him to the front door, hand on her gun, backing him up even though she had no idea what he was doing. I like that.

+ If Red and Liz are going to be partners he's really got to start letting her in on his plans. There was no reason for him not to let her know that his plan was prison break all along and that the diner was one of his contacts. Keeping her in the dark does nothing but wind up her anxiety which clearly leads to bad things.

+ I can't believe that Ressler is apparently going to get away consequence free from attacking the Russian convoy - which resulted in the death of at least two Russians. This is not a small diplomatic incident! It shpuld be a career ruining, potentially life ruining, action. I really hope there are repurcussions from this.

+ I love that as soon as Ressler figured out Liz's life was in danger he didn't hesitate to do what he needed to protect her. I love that in the ensuing chaos Liz acted to protect him (even thinking that he was trying to kill her) and that he realised that.

+ Does Red not know that Dembe has been captured? You'd think that they keep in close enough contact that Red would at least know that someone wasn't right.

+ “Odysseus spent a decade at war, but his biggest battle was finding his way home.” Is this whole series the tale of Red finding his way home then? It appears that what pushed Red into criminality was the Cabal - that he somehow stumbled on to them or crossed them in some way - and he has been fighting to destroy them since. Is this something we knew before? I can't remember. I love every glimpse we get of Red's background. I wish we could see flashbacks of young Red, alone and probably scared but so determined and brilliant, building his criminal empire and laying the building blocks for eventually destroying the Cabal.
