Hottie Of the Week: Ami, who was looking very pretty.
Cutest Moment: … Naru teasing Usagi about her ‘date’ at the beginning and then about her ‘boyfriend’ at the end was rather cute.
Saddest Moment: Usagi’s expression after Mamoru and Hina have walked off and she turns away herself. Oh, Usagi. It’s just especially sad after how she was before they appeared.
WTF of the Week: Why did Sailor Moon run off to physically get Sailor Jupiter instead of just calling her? Beyond contrivance to get Mercury and Mars some time to talk alone that is. But the thing that bothered me most was the way the youma took out the other three Senshi and during the entire battle between Mercury and the youma they stayed down, up until just after Mercury defeated it. It’s good to give each of them a moment in the spotlight but it should be done with respect for the other Senshi which this didn’t. It made Ami competent and powerful at the expense of the others and that isn’t right. I mean TPTB could have had them separate to look for the youma as the building was very big and Mercury would just be the one who found it first. It’d make sense and it would give a reason for the others to arrive post-defeat making everything work much better.
Coolest Moment: … the new use of their powers, or at least a new look at them. When they attacked the barrier they did it simple by holding out their hands and concentrating power at it. There were no phases, no props used by Usagi, just power which is something we haven’t seen before.
Best Senshi Moment: Ami. I really liked her at the end with Naru. “I don’t want to fight but I don’t want to lose the chance to partner with Usagi-chan. I’m not that nice.” I liked her standing up for herself and being honest and then I liked them agreeing with a smile to partner together .
Best Senshi Interaction: Rei/Ami. I loved Mercury confessing her jealousy of Naru’s hold on Usagi, something she’s very ashamed of, to Mars and Mars re-assuring her that everyone has a dark side and negative feelings and that she’s not responsible for what happened to Naru. It was just a really lovely moment between the two of them.
+ Where did Usagi get all the energy that she gave to all those affected by the youma? The Ginzuishou?
+ “Just be honest! You want to be with Usagi.” – Naru. I really love Naru and Ami’s fight over Usagi. In my mind at least it came off very femslashy.
