Hottie Of the Week: Usagi was looking great in this episode but especially in the last scene. Makoto is a close second.
Best Shibby Moment: Post-battle scenes between Moon and Tuxedo Mask. Him learning that it’s himself that she loves, his worry for her and her realizing that Tuxedo Mask is Mamoru.
WTF of the Week: There was a lot of aggravation this act. I wish they would just keep things consistent. Way back in Act 14 we saw Mercury jumping from building to building, fast. If they didn’t want that to within the abilities of the senshi they shouldn’t have added it. Since they did I can only conclude they can all do it which just makes Usagi and Makoto running from the Crown to the planetarium really stupid since if they’d transformed they’d have gotten there a lot quicker! Then they still don’t transform even when Luna warns them that there’s an enemy presence there. That was definitely the time to change not when they saw it. I was kind of annoyed that they didn’t call Mars in especially when Moon went after Kunzite but then she turned up so someone called her. I wasn’t pleased with yet another dumb ‘needs to be saved’ moment, this time for Jupiter – which at this point I have to concede those moments are pretty consistent. Not consistent is that the attack that seriously hurt Nephrite in the previous episode did not do so to this youma when really it should have killed it. Finally, after defeating the youma it really irritated me that Mars and Jupiter while worried about Usagi were worried about the wrong thing. Yes, she has boy angst, fine, whatever… Jupiter the last time you saw Moon was when she was going to confront Kunzite. The two of them should be a bit freaked and running to help her! They don’t know about her new power! Move your asses, girls! Ahhh!
Coolest Moment: Moon versus Kunzite… and Moon wins! Cool. Moon reacting to Kunzite shooting a blast of power at her by cringing back with her hands in front of her was on the verge of pissing me off but then she actually stopped it. With her hands. And then she glowed yellow and attacked him which was all cool. Though, possibly not the fact that he’s now figured out that she’s the princess (though really a genius IQ is not necessary for that).
Best Senshi Moment: Dark Mercury giving Nephrite a new cape because she can’t stand to see anyone alone. It gave some depth to evil Ami and showed a hint of old Ami shining through.
Best Senshi Interaction: Makoto/Usagi, specifically them fighting the youma and Jupiter telling Moon to go after Mamoru.
+ We get more of a glimpse of the princess during Mamoru’s flashes of the past and I know of course that it’s coming seeing the glimpse of black hair and no odagonos is just really disappointing and annoying. It’s still so completely, unreservedly stupid… I can’t even. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. I understand that her not having Sailor Moon/Usagi’s distinct hairstyle helps to keep everyone in the dark about her, without making them seem like idiots, but that’s not a good enough reason.
+ I’m really loving the Mamoru and Shitennou stuff that we’ve been getting. Zoisite trying to make Mamoru remember, Zoisite and Kunzite disagreeing vehemently about Endymion, Kunzite trying to kill Mamoru before he can remember and especially Zoisite fighting Kunzite to protect Mamoru (though I noticed that he didn’t show up until Moon was already facing Kunzite, not that that means anything). Kunzite dealt with Zoisite pretty easily. I’m hoping it’s just that Zoisite is still recovering and gaining strength after spending so long as a rock and not that Kunzite is really that much more powerful than him.
