iariaElisabeth Sladen died yesterday which is very sad and completely unexpected. I didn’t even know she was sick. I keep meaning to get back to Sarah Jane Adventures which I've heard has gotten really good but never got around to it.
I’ve been reading Xavier/Magneto fic again and one of the things I'm most excited about with the upcoming X-Men: First Class movie is the idea fandom will take off and there will be tons of Charles/Eric fic. I love them but despite how slashy they are they’ve never really been as huge a pairing as I would have thought they'd be. Maybe it's because they’re usually older? If so the fact that they’re going to both be young and hot in this movie is giving me great hope. Especially since we will seeing them while they are still friends and just as they’re becoming enemies. I’m really hoping that this will be the new Inception. This is a fandom and pairing I can happily get into.
Fringe 3x19 'Lysergic Acid Diethylamide'
This episode was okay but not great. While I understand the use of cartoon, and it was interesting at first, there was really just a little too much of it for me.
- I prefer the dream state from season one which was very surreal and beautifully shot. The dream state/Olivia’s mind in this episode was kind of – eh.
- My favourite moment was Astrid’s “Just about, Wally” which was hilarious. Walter’s expression was priceless.
- I also loved watching everyone on LSD. My favourite of those moments was Broyles seeing the bird land on Walter’s shoulder and whistling at it. Once again it was all in the reaction shots – Walter and Astrid this time – though Broyles big grin and wave was amusing to. One thing that stuck out to me was that Astrid just went immediately back to what she was doing, being very used to dealing with that sort of thing, while Walter was distracted by it for a couple seconds longer.
- I feel like they threw in Peter realising that Olivia wasn’t the real Olivia in the dream because of the alt Olivia situation. A sort of 'ha, Peter knows the 'real' Olivia now'.
- I loved that Broyles tidied up while waiting in an effort to help Astrid. That was sweet.
