If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin'?

Well. That was very... underwhelming.

Things I Liked

• Tara. She was great throughout. I love her interactions with Lafayette and Jesus. I liked that she went to Sookie for help because that makes a lot of sense and her confrontation with Pam was great. Good for her in getting a vampire killing gun. I even liked Tara/Sam scene. I loved this line:

“Uh, yeah, I’m going to skip town and leave you when you’re in big trouble with a vampire that still gives you nightmares. Because that’s the kind of person I am. Fuck you.”

• Bill and Jessica. Their scene was pretty adorable. They’re clearly close and they have a father/daughter relationship that I enjoy. Plus good advice: “Jess. Vamp up. If you love him you’ll tell him the truth. Period.” I want more of them.

• Sookie's scenes with Eric were pretty good. I liked her little smile after Eric was all ticklish. It made me smile too. Him walking around the rug was cute. The scene in his cubby worked for me as well.

• The Pam/Sookie/Eric scene. “Who the fuck is she!? Sorry. Sorry that was rude. I’m sorry.” Heh. I love Pam's loyalty and love for Eric. And while Eric hitting Pam was very weird and felt wrong everyone's complete non-reaction to it amused me for some reason.

• It was nice to see Alcide again and I liked how happy the two of them were to see each other.

Sookie: You just killed my fairy godmother!
Eric: Sorry. (grin)

lol. I actually hated this scene but the way she said that and his response, and her expression and his grin was just hilarious.

Things I Hated

• Jason’s storyline. God. I guess he’s going to be this year’s punching bag? Crystal raping him at the end and the implication that all the women were going to as well was horrifying and gross. D: D: So much DNW.

• Jessica using her power to erase Hoyt’s memory... oh, no. No. That is just so wrong. And it wasn’t just her erasing the memory of her cheating confession but of the fight and his anger and telling him that they’re happy and ugh. So horrifying and I want nothing to do with this storyline either.

• I hated the final scene (even though it did make me laugh). Sookie may be mad at Claudine, she may not trust her, but she basically just stood there as Eric killed her. WTF, Sookie? Could she have saved Claudine? Maybe, maybe not. But she didn’t even really try and it pisses me off.

Other Things

• Why didn't Eric feel a connection to Sookie and Pam? Shouldn't that be something that's still there? I know he can sense Sookie's emotions usually, and I believe he can with Pam as well, so why would a loss of memory interfere with that?

• Things That Bore Me: Tommy, Tommy and Maxine, Tommy and Sam, Hotshot, Andy, Bill and his love life.

• That doll was very creepy. The fact that it keeps coming back is creepy. I would be a bit more freaked out about it than Jessica and Hoyt were.

• So did Bill set Eric up like Pam suspects? I can't actually tell.

• Was Sookie going to Alcide for help (a second babysitter when she's busy) or her trying to pawn off her Eric on someone else? After she told Pam that she would take care of him and asked for compensation. Seriously, Sookie? Pam is not going to be happy.

• I wish that scene could have just been about Sookie stopping by to see her friend and letting him know she wasn't dead. Would it kill TPTB to let Sookie be a good friend occasionally?

“Win back your trust.” Um, when did Sookie ever trust Debbie? They were never friends. Also why didn't Sookie read Debbie's mind to see if she was trustworthy? Or at least to see if she'd overheard about Eric.

• When she realised that Eric was gone why didn't Sookie immediately call Pam?

• I'm a little nervous that there might be some foreshadowing in Bill condemning a vampire to death just as Jessica confesses to feeding from a human. I have this little niggling bad feeling that she's going to do it again and get caught. I may not be happy with Jessica right now but I still love her and they had better not kill her off.

• I continue to not like Sookie lying to Tara. This time there was a little more reason than about being a fairy but considering she was going to bring Alcide into the secret I don't see why she couldn't have told Tara the truth. Or she could have at least said 'I can't tell you how I know but I promise you Eric isn't going to go after Lafayette in revenge. Just avoid the witches.' Or something like that. Plus a little more worry for Lafayette and Tara, please! Ugh, Sookie annoyed me this episode.
