Once Upon a Time 5x06 & 5x07 Thoughts
Nov. 9th, 2015 10:35 pm5x06 'The Bear and The Bow'
And back to meh.
+ Belle/Merida was nice and their final scene was lovely. I love Belle continuing her streak of making friends with all the women - Ruby, Mulan, Ariel, Anna, Merida. It's great.
+ Henry vowing to do anything to get his mom back was great.
+ Regina's line about getting Merlin's voicemail was amusing.
+ I actually liked Zelena pointing out that Emma hates to be alone (and thus how far she has come from the pilot with her loneliness then and how she's surround by people she loves now). The shot of her alone in the kitchen was nice.
+ There were a bunch of logic things that I found annoying. Like, Merida actually successfully kidnapping Belle, or everyone including Regina agreeing to leave Arthur alone to do the spell.
+ I wasn't looking forward to Regina becoming the Saviour to oppose Dark Swan but Rumplestiltskin taking that role is worse. The whole dark one/saviour switch works as an idea but I hate it in concept.
+ As a whole I just didn't care about the Merida/Belle/Rumple part of the story. Belle/Rumple were less annoying than usual.
5x07 'Nimue'
This episode was better.
+ "I'm not nothing! I was never nothing! The power you have I don't need." - Emma. Awesome! Such a excellent moment. I've missed this Emma. I loved her taking the ember and banishing Nimue and I loved how happy she was to take the right path.
+ I also really liked the final scene with Emma giving into the Darkness, reforging Excalibur and then taking possession of it. I liked the former Dark Ones cheering her on.
+ I wonder if this storyline could end with all the Dark Ones being set free from the Darkness?
+ I liked the Emma/Merlin interactions. They work well together (in that I enjoy watching them.)
+ I figured that the first Dark One would be Merlin's lost love and I ended up really liking how it played out.
+ I actually quite liked the Emma/Hook goodbye. It was sweet.
+ Zelena getting the better of Snow - sigh. Eveything to do with Zelena and the others - sigh.
+ Why didn't Merlin even try to heal Nimue when she was stabbed?
