• Kenzi carrying around her sword on cases and how she immediately grabbed it and ran to Bo’s aid. I think she’s just carrying it around because it makes her feel safe but I’d to see her actually learning how to use it.

• Kenzi casually eating salsa while looking at bloody crime scene photos

• Bo in a suit when she went to the prison (though of course her skirt would be so very short).

• Kenzi’s permed blonde wig was not actually a horrible look.

“The three of you should just get a room already.” – Kenzi I agree and I also love that Kenzi thinks so too.

• I love Bo kissing Kenzi’s check when she got home and I love that even though she’s in a bad mood she doesn’t take it out on Kenzi in any way.

• The Ciricon is very cool. And while it’s basically the witchblade I don’t care. I did find myself wondering if it only reacts/works for her.

• I like that saving Lou Ann becomes more about Bo fighting about choice and freedom for herself and others instead of mainly about her quest for her mother.

• I love Bo’s trunk of weapons and her getting all dressed up to hunt down Vex.

“I don’t like losing control like that.” – Bo
“At a certain point it’s not about losing control, it’s about taking it.” – Trick

This is true and I’m glad that Trick pointed it out. When Bo was having a hard time fighting the Morag I kept waiting for her to use her Succubus powers on her but she never did. It’s great that Bo is learning to use her powers to keep herself from killing people and learning to heal herself better but she also needs to learn how to use her powers offensively and defensively and the extent of them.

Neutral

• In the previous episode I enjoyed the Lauren/Dyson snipping but I found their jealousy in this episode less amusing.

• Lauren/Bo: I am very torn about them! How they played out in this episode is not how I wanted it to play out but... I mean, it wasn’t bad and I think it could be an interesting story to tell but, but! I love that finally Bo and Lauren have moved forward with their relationship – that they finally slept together (and Bo didn’t kill Lauren, yay!) But it would have been nice if it could have happened without Lauren being ordered into, and perhaps they could have even been happy together for awhile. I think it’s clear that Lauren really does care for Bo, and if her orders had involved her harming Bo instead of doing something she’s wanted since they first met (ie: sleep with her) then I don’t think she would have done it, and that does go a long way to mitigating the whole ‘sleeping with Bo because the Ash says so’ part. But it still bugs me. And of course everything goes to hell. Sigh.

“I’m trying to protect you. I didn’t do anything wrong!”
“You are in my bed because he told you too. Everything about this is wrong.”

Damn. Oh, poor Bo. But I also feel sorry for Lauren too. The whole situation is just horrible. I really hope this doesn’t mean the end of Lauren/Bo. Actually this could work out well depending how it’s played. I like tension and antagonism in my pairings. Them having this to deal with could be very interesting.

Disliked

• I didn’t like Kenzi’s choice in video game – killing scantily clad female robot whores – and they could have so easily had her playing any number of other shooting games. I feel like TPTB were trying to drawn some comparison/connection between that and Bo getting attacked by the Morag at the same time but that bothered me even more. Having the Morag’s attack played out how it did – with Kenzi’s sexist video game playing concurrently – it gave the fight between Morag and Bo some icky layers for me that there wouldn’t have been if Kenzi had been playing almost any other video game. Kenzi’s “It smells like fried bitch” was just more fail on top of fail.

• Bo’s “He’s being such a girl.” I hate when characters and people use ‘girl’ as a pejorative. Even when it’s a woman using it that way, or perhaps especially when a woman.

“Don’t forget your dog collar.” – Bo I get why she said that and I’m not actually mad at her. She feels betrayed and angry and she has a right to. Her lashing out and trying to hurt Lauren back makes sense. But still – ouch. That was pretty cruel there.

• Dyson framing not sexing it up with Bo when she needs to be healed anymore as ‘for her own good’. Whatever.

• I disliked how we got Lauren betraying Bo’s trust and then the episode being book ended by Dyson helping Bo by healing her even when he didn’t want to and Dyson saving Bo at the end (after Lauren turned to him for help).

• The garbage disposal torture of Siegfried was gross and ew and squicky and I had to fast-forward. That sort of thing always freaks me out.
