Lucifer and Agent Carter 2x03 Thoughts
Jan. 30th, 2016 11:54 pmLucifer 1x01 – I liked it. I thought it was silly but fun and I liked both main characters. Lucifer is a complete dick but I find the actor charming so it mostly works for me. I enjoy the Lucifer/Chloe relationship already. Hopefully we’ll have many scenes of Chloe knocking some of that smugness out of him. I actually love the addition of Chloe’s daughter Trixie – she’s cute but not in an obnoxious way, I loved her plugging her ears while her parents were fighting and Lucifer being so thrown off by her amuses me. I want at least one scene of Lucifer and Trixie interacting every episode. Overall, I’ll keep watching.
Agent Carter 2x03 ‘Better Angels’
I really liked it.
• I loved the Peggy/Jarvis/Howard interactions. Jarvis and Peggy reacting to Howard is one of my favourite things. Peggy looking to Jarvis for a truer explanation after Howard says “I’m not a joiner” and Jarvis’s headshake after Howard remembered Dottie when reminded what he was wearing but not that she kidnapped him were my favourites. I could honestly watch a whole series just about Peggy, Jarvis and Howard going around getting into trouble and solving problems.
• Peggy taking Howard’s drink with a “come on, who’s a good boy, Howard’s a good boy” and leading him away – LOL. Also I loved her using him as a diversion to get into the club.
• Howard was a delight. Sleep deprived Howard was super fun.
+ I loved that he noticed how happy Jarvis was working with Peggy and what a great team they made. I liked seeing that little bit of insecurity from him and his worry about the possibility of losing Jarvis. I loved that when Jarvis gently reassured him that he wasn't going anywhere Howard's response was: “I know, I’m great. So is she.”
+ I kind of love that Howard just walks through Wilkes.
+ I loved how well Howard and Wilkes got one – they’re so impressed with each other’s smarts, the change from Howard calling him Wilkes at the beginning to Jason at the end, Howard offering him a job, how impressed Wilkes was with Howard as a person (“He’s more than alright.”) They were like the proto-Science Bros.
+ It really is too bad that Tony never got to meet this version of his dad. It’s actually painful to see how similar they really are and to know how bad their relationship was. Now I want a crossover with Tony being sent back in time to Agent Carter and having to work with his dad and Peggy to get back.
• Peggy/Jarvis are wonderful as always. I loved him being all worried about her while she was hammering away at the punching bag and then showing up to save her from the assassin.
• Peggy/Wilkes are still lovely. I really liked her refusing to let him leave to protect them [and her pointing out how it wouldn’t work] and both their expressions when she tells him “And it’s Peggy.”
• ”You’re doing what you always do: burying an ugly truth and hoping someone will pin a medal on you.” – Peggy. Daaaaamn! OUCH! Using a past confidence against him, especially one so painful, was harsh but also kind of deserved considering that's exactly what he was doing so I can’t really blame her.
• I’m calling it now: Jack is going to die this season doing the right thing for once, possibly saving Peggy or just the day. I definitely think he’s going to chose the ‘good’ side.
• I loved that Jarvis recorded the new house voice alarm. ... aw, now it makes me miss JARVIS.
• I love that Whitney turned out to not only be the brains behind Isodyne but is a genius in her own right. I enjoyed her a lot more this episode.
