Wanheda, Part 2
I loved it!
• Clarke ♥. She was amazing. I love that she doesn't stop fighting for a second - fakes unconsciousness and then tries to garrote/drown Roan, yells out when told to be quiet, takes off running, stabs Roan in the stomach. Worst hostage ever ♥. The river scene where she tries to kill Roan was one of my favourites.
• Bellamy/Clarke ♥. They get one small scene together but it was so great. I loved every second of their short reunion: Bellamy's expression when he sees her hand, his smile as he knelt in front of her, the gentle way he brushed back her hair and removed her gag, Clarke begging for his life.
• Bellamy ♥. Oh Bellamy. His laser focus on getting Clarke back, his complete loyalty and devotion to her makes me so ridiculously happy. He loves her so much! [Romantically or platonically, I don't care. It's indisputably love and is the best.] I love how even alone and stabbed in the leg Bellamy still staggers and drags himself through the forest after Clarke instead of doing the sensible thing and waiting for the others to catch up to him. He is completely ridiculous and I love him. His desperate "We can't lose Clarke. We can't lose her." really makes me want someone to hug him.
• Okay, Bellamy totally screwed up. If he'd waited they could have caught Roan as a group and saved Clarke. He compounded that mistake when he totally let his guard down upon seeing Clarke, despite being alone and knowing she had an unseen captor, and let himself be ambushed. Poor choices all around. But I can't be mad because his desperation to save Clarke makes me really happy. As established they work best together and he really needs her back to make the plans for him.
• Lexa! That was such a great reveal. "I need you" ♥ At the same time Clarke spitting in her face was the least she deserved. I can't wait to see how things play out with them.
• I kind of love Roan already. I really enjoyed him this ep and I loved his interactions with Clarke. The fact that he spared Bellamy shows that he's maybe a better guy them he seemed at first. His banishment and obvious pain at that, and anger at Clarke for choosing to abandon her people, gave him some nice depth. I loved his "Now that's better." reaction to Clarke almost killing him. The reveal that he was working for Lexa and is the prince of the Ice Nation was excellent.
• Bellamy and Monty ♥. They were so lovely. I love the bond between them. Bellamy's worry for Monty throughout - checking that he's alright, all those sad worried looks at him - and the fact that it's only Monty who can get through to Bellamy at the end and convince him that they need to turn back makes me so happy.
• Poor Monty but at least he has his mom (who is pretty awesome.) I'm so glad he appears to be getting his own storyline this season separate from Jasper. I've at times really enjoyed them but I want Monty away from him for awhile. I hope they continue to build his bond with Bellamy, his friendships with Miller and others, and I can't wait for his reunion with Clarke (please be a hug.) A love interest could be nice. The only thing I don't want is for him to choose his mom/Pike and their POV/way of doing things over Bellamy/the 100/Arkadia's way because that would make me sad. Him attempting to act as a bridge between the two groups on the other hand could be interesting.
• Murphy and Emori continue their adorableness from last season. "And here I thought you got me" made me smile so much. Their flirtiness is really cute. I liked him trying to save her and loved her saving herself, and loved him securing their escape. I am so super glad they've broke off, and so decisively, from Jaha and his craziness.
• Lexa going back on her promise to Roan to end his banishment made me both lol and shake my head. Oh, Lexa. I feel like this is going to come back to bite her. Plus for being such a great leader she can be really short sighted sometimes. First Clarke and the Mountain Men, now with Roan. She could have used this as an opportunity to potentially get him on her side and considering he's her enemy's son that could only help her! Also being known to go back on your word is not a good thing.
• Meanwhile, while I did feel bad for Jasper when he broke down crying on Octavia, his temper tantrum destruction of priceless artifacts moved him even further onto my shit list. I did not realise this was possible. Him lashing out at Abby earlier ("your daughter killed him too", fuck you Jasper) was completely uncalled for. I am so tired of him.
• So it looks like Abby's probably going to be giving up being Chancellor in order to concentrate on being a doctor full time. It's probably for the best since she seems to be having a hard time juggling both. I am very curious about who exactly is going to be the next Chancellor. Kane seems the obvious choice and I imagine he will be [since he seems to basically be co-chancellor already) but Pike seems like he could be trouble. He's been in a leadership position for awhile now, in very harsh conditions and I can see him having a hard time both letting go of that power and trusting how things are in Arkadia. With the growing tensions with the Grounders it's just asking for things to blow up.
• I love the idea of Abby [and Sinclair and Nyko] turning Mount Weather into a hospital complex for Skaikru and Grounders alike. I hope the show follows this through. It could be interesting if the Mountain becomes yet another separate group (even from Arkadia) - this time made up of Skaikru and various different Ground clan people - as a sort of Switzerland. With the Mountain resources at their disposal they'd certainly have the ability to maintain themselves as a separate entity.
Also while I don't care about Jasper I feel like him staying there and apprenticing with Abby/Nyko to be a doctor, to save people, could actually be a really good direction to go with him. It could also be a good place for Octavia and Lincoln to be - separate but still a part of a group. It could be perfect if Mount Weather did become a separate entity.
• Pike seems likable in some ways - I liked his reunion with the Arkadians, his loyalty to his people, his rapport with Kane and Bellamy - but his black-and-white thinking and hatred of the Grounders makes me think he's going to become a lot less likable for me. It'll depended on how far they take it and how unreasonable he becomes.
• Poor Niylah but it's interesting that she still seems loyal to Clarke. I wonder if she'll show up again.
• Bellamy pretending to be an Ice Nation warrior ended up being a lot less interesting then I was assuming based on the shot in the season 3 trailer. Too bad.
• ALIE's "City of Lights" = a virtual reality, yes? So a person accepts the truth of the city, and it's important for some reason that they accept it willingly, and by doing something with the little crystal Jaha gave Murphy (they need it to access the city, perhaps) they find themselves in this virtual reality. At the same time it makes a copy of them and if their body dies and they're removed from their connection to the City the copy is activated. Or something like that? I wonder if there's some sort of brain control element to this. My guess for ALIE's plan - upload all of humanity into her virtual City and then kill all humans on Earth.
I loved it!
