It was good. I read it really quickly, before I knew it I was at the end. The climax felt a little quick.

+ Lulu/Stephanie were great except the several times Lulu just disappeared when Stephanie needed her help. Stephanie could have potentially died! I think there was even a death after the first failed capture? If yes, then that death is partially on Lulu since he would have been in jail. If Lulu wants to be Stephanie's partner she needs to act like it. Yes, comedy story but it bothered me in this book for whatever reason. Of course she did save Stephanie and grandma at the end so there's that.

+ I also found Stephanie's general incompetence kind of bothersome again. I wish she'd be able to learn, to become better at her job.

+ The bridge scene was pretty great. Stephanie musing later about how she just needs a short period to freak out and cry and then she just moves on was actually spot on. She is super-humanly resilient. I tried to think of all the times that she has almost died - usually several times a book I think - and it's pretty shocking. That actually is a pretty amazing trait of hers. I liked her actually quitting the business for a few days for once.

+ I liked that very short Stephanie/Tank scene. I'd love more scenes between them or Steph and Ranger's employees again.

+ On the love triangle front - for the first time I'm considering that Stephanie/Morelli aren't going to be end game. It felt like this book was highlighting some of the ways that Stephanie and Morelli don't fit. Specifically, I don't think she wants children and he probably does, though they don't talk about it. I just can't imagine her with them. Despite all the tears and near death experiences I think she does like how her life works and in this case Ranger fits better with her. I'll be interested to see if I get the same impression in the next book.
