World's Finest
I stopped watching Supergirl awhile back. It's not that I disliked the show. It's just that while there were parts I loved, overall it was only okay and there were other things to watch I was more into. But I ended up taping the latest episode and decided to check it out - and I loved it. It was super adorable. Maybe I should start watching again.
+ I really liked Barry and I loved his and Kara's friendship. They were adorable together. I love how enthusiastic they were about each other, and how supportive. The balcony scene was really lovely. The fact that Barry wanted to come up with a plan first but had Kara's back regardless was great. What I love best about them is how happy and fun and light they are together. It's such a nice change of pace.
+ There was so much cute this episode!
- Barry's "I, nope." when deciding not to pat out the fire on Kara's chest was loldorable.
- Kara and Winn's little happy friend squee when Barry started explaining the multiverse was cute.
- Kara's 'Yesss!' to the ice cream. She was so happy about that ice cream!
- Cat's aggressive 'my cupcakes' made me smile.
- Barry being so enthusiastic about Kara's spaceship and wanting a photo with it was perfect.
- The entirety of the scene in Cat's office was a delight. Barry speaking up against being considered a sidekick, Winn putting his hand on his arm with an uncomfortable 'oh no' smile and James wince and then Barry's "I see now that speaking was a mistake." (Cat's expression!); Cat coming up with names and everyone's expressions especially Barry's head shake; Cat shooting down 'Flash' (lol) and Barry's expression and James grin.
+ "What do you say we step away from the nice lady, settle this like women. [Kara gives him a look] What? There's more of you guys here then me." - Barry. ♥
+ I'd forgotten how much I love Cat mentoring Kara. Her actually involving herself in Kara's romantic life, giving advice and encouragement, was a little surprising but great. "National city may have lost faith in Supergirl but I haven't. And you shouldn't either." - Cat. ♥ There were a couple moments that seemed to indicate that Cat knows Kara is Supergirl. Nothing overt but her expression, the way she says something slightly pointed [this quote, when she said she can always spot the extraordinary]. I was super annoyed by the show letting her figure out the truth and then taking it back so I'd love if she actually does know.
+ Cat was amazing. I love her so much. I love her unblinking badassness when Livewire showed up and that she pleading for her life for her sons sakes.
+ I love how excited and into the whole situation Winn was. I felt for him when he was trying to get through to Siobhan. I remember him verging on annoying 'Nice Guy'ness when I stop but I really enjoyed him here.
+ James was such a gumpy-faced sourpuss this episode! I get the whole jealousy thing but it was a bit much.
+ I liked the average citizens stepping forward to protect Kara even if it was a little cheesy. I particularly liked the firemen taking out Livewire.
