Person of Interest 4x20 & 4x21 Thoughts

iaria4x20 'Terra Incognita': It was great to see Carter again. I really enjoyed all the Carter/Reese scenes. A little annoyed at the continuing push of Carter as the most important person to Reese - "I didn't shut you out." - but I loved Reese's subconscious as Carter calling John out on lying to himself. Dare I hope this experience will lead to a less dour Reese? I loved how worried Finch was. I also rather liked that most of Root's worry was for Finch not Reese. They're a lot closer now than they used to be, are trusted allies, but for Root at the end of the day it's the Machine, Finch and Shaw who really matter to her.
4x21 'Asylum'
So much happened this episode!
+ "Lay a hand on him I'll kill you." I love Root being protective of Harold. I love the fierceness she has about it. It was pretty satisfying to watch her kill Martine.
+ I freaking loved how Elias played Dominic and got his revenge for Anthony. That moment when he asked how Dominic felt killing a friend, both of them filled with pain, was so well done. I even love that Elias has apparently reached the stage where he's like 'fuck it, revenge is all that matters'. Even at the cost of his own life. I just wish we'd see some of this over the last couple episodes. I really hope that he gets saved along with Reese and Fusco.
+ You are wrong Harold. You are not interchangeable. I failed to save Sameen. I will not fail you now. This is going to be so sad. Are they finally going to give us Machine & Harold bonding and him admitting that she is more than just an untrustworthy machine and then take her away? No! She's talking directly to him now! His face when she refused to sacrifice them because she loves them! (She totally does.) I need him to accept her! I need them to make up and him to give her a virtual hug and his approval and for them to be a happy family! Is that too much to ask???
+ I loved Root's game of chicken with the Machine in order to find Shaw.
+ "She reminded me what I've been missing. Life." - Reese. Said with a smile even! Of course everything is going to hell but I'm really hoping for the return of season 1/2 Reese next season. It looks like his Carter vision really did help him.
+ "Hey. You're right. You're a good detective and a damn good friend." ♥ And then Fusco's all 'are you sick??', lol.
+ "You got a loofa? Maybe you can wash my back while you're at it." Oh, Fusco. I love him.
+ Finch may have thought Shaw was dead but he still kept her phone plugged in on his desk just in case.
+ I loved Finch convincing the Asylum doctor by telling him the truth. And Root: "He basically lives in the subway", heh.
+ It's nice to see Control again and I'm so glad that she's decided to dig her head out of the sand and get actively involved against Samaritan.
+ I guess Harper is staying true to herself as someone who is always opportunistic and puts herself first. I did like that she was clearly bothered by the team being tortured. I'm guessing that she's going to be saving at least Fusco.
+ I love that the Machine was also looking after Fusco and Reese and tasked Harper into helping them.
